I have often wondered about the expression...
Half of what battle?
And in what war? I figure it has to be a current war, so the war of independence, civil war, and Vietnam are right out. The war in Iraq? The war on poverty? Illiteracy? The drug war? Is it a mob war?
And if knowing is only half the battle, what is the other half? I know showing up counts as a percentage... And then there is inspiration and perspiration... And lets not forget overwhelming force, shock and awe, and superior fire power.
I think its a much more complex formula then:
battle = knowing + x
where x is the unknown (unknowable, perhaps?) rest of the battle.
Well that was a momentary distraction from the moral dilema I find myself in...
