The week off has came and passed too quickly.
I didn't do my homework and wasn't very studious (sp? I'm losing my English) the past week, which isn't like me. The vegging out felt good, I must admit. Until I got up the motivation to actually look at the homework, then I cursed myself for being so lazy.
The return to school wasn't too painful. We'll see if I make it through the week. Same old reading packets, grammar, and kanji. It's hard to explain what we learn, because it's such random grammar points usually. Today, for example, we learned how to say "as if" as in "Even though he was supposed to know all of the material, when he was called on he had a look on his face as if he didn't know any of it." and "-ish" as in "childish", "girlish", etc. I already knew the "-ish" (and I use it often) but I like it when grammar I already know comes up because it gives my brain a chance to breathe.
It's getting really warm here, even though it rained the entire weekend. Tomorrow it should get up to 78 degrees. Everything is beautiful and green. I smell flowers everywhere, it's wonderful.
Today I sent a small package and bought a box from the post office. I'm pretty proud of myself because even though I was nervous because there was a long line behind me, I was able to talk in Japanese without needing to think about what I wanted to say beforehand, and I didn't even realize it until I got home. The box was the biggest size they had; I'm starting to pack things up and ship them home. By boat, it will take about two months so I figure the sooner I get the boxes out, the better. It'll probably be a pretty penny to ship it out, but I need the space for new stuff I got here and will continute to get here before I leave.
Already packing up. Just 70 days left, it's really hard to believe. It feels like I just got here. I keep having dreams where I'm home and I know something is off, I say "I'm not supposed to be home yet, I'm supposed to still be in Japan...right?" I wonder if I'll feel that way when I wake up back home, in a bed that's not my futon here in Kyoto.
I had work today, it was pretty good as usual. The best part of Mondays is always the ride back downhill in the busy street in the dark. God, I love that bike ride.
I want to go to kaitensushi again, hopefully we're going again on Thursday. If we do, I'm going to try the raw horse sushi.
