New Computer

So I got my new computer yesterday. I spent last night making sure my old computer was organized and ready to transfer files, and backed up my writing and pictures. This morning I hooked up the new computer, and it works pretty good (although I've spent quite a bit of time downloading drivers for my programs that are not Vista compatible). Then I ( Read more... )

I can't get to the option to boot in Safe Mode. It immediately Blue Screens without going though the loading process. Repeatedly hitting F9 doesn't help. *sighs*
I did back-up my really important stuff... my writing, my pictures... I only had enough room on my jump drive for half the music though... yet it won't do me much good if I can't find the disk to load the I-tunes program. And I can't find my family tree maker disk either. It's gotta be in a box around here somewhere...
And my writing files won't do my much good at the moment as I don't yet have Microsoft Office. The tech guy at work is gonna get me a copy of it. The idea was that I would have both computers running this weekend and if I needed to do any writing, I would just use my old computer. I just didn't expect my old computer to suddenly turn into a petulant 2-year old!!!

Oooh.... Now that sounds like a good program. I'm downloading it right now. As long as everything is transferable from MS Office, then I wouldn't mind sticking my middle finger to the big guy as well! Bad enough I am forced to use Vista... although I'm not finding it TOO bad at the moment. I like the gagets feature. Now I can look at how the stock market is doing at any time instantly! LOL The sticky notes are handy too.

On the plus side, I did find a set of disks labeled KOTOR II. Couldn't figure out what it was until I stuck in to the computer. Someone a few years back burned me a copy of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic PC game. I probably figured to wait until I got a new computer to run it as it wouldn't have run very well on my old computer... and then I forgot about it. This should be a fun game! :D
