"Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me." -New Moon
The days of Craig's eternal banishment are finally coming to a close. For a week, at least. Then he will be gone again, but at least I can pretend it's back to normal for a few days. This month business is just to much and I don't think we'll be going this long again.
I actually have a lot to look forward to has all my mental countdowns start to wind down. The day of Craig's arrival is the day I start Spring Break (yayyyyy!!!). This time of year is by far the hardest. Everyone is so tense because of the upcoming CRCT and we tend to forget the big picture. I have an unbelievably hard time with this because standardize testing of six year olds goes against every fiber of my being. I refuse to buy into it. I refuse to make it the center of my world. I know I must give it, it's part of my job. I want my children to do well, because it's part of their future. But it's just so unfair in every sense of the word. I will be happy to be spending Spring Break NOT thinking about testing.
As Spring Break starts, we will be going to a baby shower for my soon-to-be niece. Have I mentioned how much I love her already? Because I do! Then, Craig and I will be celebrating our one year of marriage. I'm beyond excited for starting a new year with him and for all that it holds. First and foremost, his coming home for good (someday). At the end of Spring Break, we'll be going to see Wicked! So good things are definitely coming this way.
Oh, and the above quote is from the second book in the Twilight series. I've been bitten by the Twilight bug. It was a total fluke, as I'm standing at the checkout counter at Blockbuster with my two movies and the clerk says "Hey, we're running a special on 3 movies for $12" and my sister says, "Oh get Twilight, it was really good." So we grab it, all the while I know what lameness it will really hold. And then I loved it. I really loved it. So of course then I had to read the books. I've read the first two books in three days and I'm waiting to get the third. It gives me something to do!
