Well, that was an interesting day at the office. "Interesting" is such a useful word, isn't it.
Things finally came to a head between me and a colleague who is leaving, and who accused me of being a thief when some of her information tuned up somewhere it should not have. I probably should apologise to the poor colleague (also leaving) who was caught in between us. Despite everything to the contrary, she still thinks I did take it. I typed "wants to believe" there, and that's probably correct, which is a strange place to be.
And she's a strange person. In a way I can't figure her out, and in a way she's me ten years ago. Talking about new jobs today, I said that the thing about moving on is that you take so many of your problems with you. But she refuses to believe that she could possibly be at fault. Everyone else is wrong, and she's so aggressive, but she takes people walking away from the discussion as her being right. I feel sorry for her in a way, but maybe I'm just projecting.
Ok, that was typically LJ-cryptic, wasn't it, she says on re-reading. Basically, colleague brought information from her previous company, put it on our company server. I found it by accident and pointed it out to people as a curiosity. Information turned up in one of our documents, colleague found it and told our director that someone - probably me - stole it from her external hard drive. It's like being at school in our office some time.
The other thing you need to know about my company is that they like making people serve out their notice period - and she's got three months to go. Couple this with the skivy bloke, the moany (moaney?) moo opposite me, passive aggressive bloke and me looking like the sane one, and the next few months are going to be good.
Right. Since I've managed to cut my hand opening a wine bottle, I need to go and administer some first aid and another glass of wine. Later, folks.
