sleep satisfied

Oh, it's certainly great that I'm all stressed out over little things. Just think when actual real issues come up, like school, and the election!

- My Oakland A's are on a TEN GAME losing streak right now. I'm not sure if they're going to win another game anytime soon, although this weekend they are playing Detroit. Certainly there's a win or two up there eh? Well, Toronto isn't exactly a great team and they just took 4 out of 4 from the A's this week. Most had expected the A's to be bad this year, but until mid-July they've been overachieving and playing real well. Which is why it's sad to see them doing so poorly and making me have to "eat crow" for defending them, which I still won't do :) I'll never apologize or eat crow for defending my teams. That's right. If the Raiders suck again, don't expect me to "man up" like some of my friends might do. I have a ticket to the A's vs. the Chicago White Sox on August 17. I get to see Nick Swisher again, and, shortly after I got my ticket, the WS acquired Ken Griffey Jr. However I am 0-2 at A's games this year, so hopefully I can see a win.

- The third game of this losing streak was one I attended. ROOT BEER FLOAT DAY. Pictures of that will be up. I met several "celebrities" like A's sideline reporter Jaymee Sire (who gave me my root beer float), who I also got a picture with, A's pitcher (now Sacramento pitcher due to a bad performance in Boston for loss #5) Dana Eveland. I also got pictures of A's TV play-by-play and color commentators Glen Kuiper and Ray Fosse (also former A's and Indians catcher) respectively as well as the San Jose Sharks TV and Radio announcers. It was awesome. I will have pictures on my facebook and myspace in the next seven days.

- Well maybe I should take my mind off that by watching another sport. That's right, the NFL Pre-season is here! THE BATTLE OF THE BAY. Raiders/49ers. I will be going to a tailgate for the first time since Dec. 30. You know what that means. BBQ, Beer, Shirley Temples! This is about the only time I get drunk, during Raiders events... I haven't had a drink since I had Mike's Hard Lemonade the first day of LemoCon...

- Sad news, while I was in Miami, a guy got ran over in Alameda by a crazy guy trying to murder his wife who was nearby (she got away). Turns out, the guy was a friend of mine who I tailgated at with the Raiders games in 2007. You always hear about murders here in the East Bay every day, but until that day it has never been anyone I knew. I knew it was going to happen eventually. It's really sad. There will be a memorial for him today.

- In non-sports events, I've been doing a 3D Zelda marathon of my own. Some group does one around this time but I wanted to do one just because I haven't played them in forever and they're among my favorite games. I started with OOT after LemoCon, had fun but it's a little stale now. Majora's Mask was as fun as usual, but I was playing the GC version which tends to freeze a lot, and it did become an issue (I had to do the entire Snowhead Temple over again, after I entered the Goron Races and the screen went black) but I managed to get through and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere the game has. As insane and probably not unique view, I would like to do a remake of OOT/MM someday...

Next up was OOTMQ, I'm going to finish it today or tommorow, but where as I haven't played OOT and MM since before I left to E3 2006, my last full playthrough of MQ was 2003 (I had started before E3, but I only beat the Deku Tree, and never got around to resuming when I returned from Los Angeles) and the dungeons were practically like new, with me barely remembering any puzzles I saw.

Sunday or Monday I will begin The Wind Waker, which I also haven't fully played since 2003. I might have started it once or twice in 2004-2005 but didn't get very far because I had commitments to newer games. So I look forward to that. Unfortunately a Twilight Princess run will not be finished prior to school starting, so it may be drawn out. Unless I can beat it in the 2-3 days I'll have no classes. I beat the game a week after I got it in December 2006, maybe played a little bit trying to 100% it in January '07 but I have not touched it since. I'm thinking about renting the Wii version, instead of playing my GC version, to make it a little fresher, plus I want to see what it's like. On the other hand, playing it the "traditional" way would coincide with me playing the other traditional Zeldas...

- Can someone tell me what's wrong with eating Arugula?

- I bumped into someone from my Spanish class last week, it was amazingly awesome. I've had dreams the past few weeks where school resumed and I saw most everybody again. The dreams vary between good and bad, and people I knew rotate in whether they come back or whether they don't, but I'm usually unhappy to find out I've just been dreaming. So when it happened for real I was very excited when I saw her, and yes she recognized me and we talked for a minute. To be honest, she was one of the people I wanted to see the most as she's going to school a little far from here and our last day together in May didn't exactly go very well, so... Funny thing is, I had lunch with my dad earlier before I planned to see Wall-E, but we ran late, so I couldn't see the movie. It was when we went to the movies to check other times we saw her walking in front of the theater. So, things have a funny way of working out... Oops. may to have friend only this post now :)
