::does self-satisfed happy dance::
I’m cool, I’m cool - I just did my “I’m a friendly customer with a problem who’s not going to yell at you, but I want you to fix it” thang, and got what I wanted! My lovely duplicate orders problem with deepdiscountdvd.com has been a big hassle, and this morning I got notice that another backordered DVD (“Galaxy Quest” this time) was shipped after I emailed to cancel on Wednesday. I emailed their support account and was told twice that they weren’t going to pay for my shipping these back to them (can’t get my refund until I ship it back).
So, this morning I called the Help Line. “Andrei” said that if I sent back Galaxy Quest “return to sender” without opening it, I wouldn’t have to pay. Since the two Dr. Quinns came in the same box, I asked her what happened if the Galaxy Quests came together. Oh, then I could call and ask for a mailing label to send it back. Un-huh. But not for Dr. Quinn? No. I see. Thanks very much.
I hung up the phone and dialed again to get a different rep. I told my sad little story, explaining that they said I should call if the duplicates came in the same box. Result? “Alberto” is emailing me a mailing label I can use for all three sets when they arrive. Thank you. It’s not so much to ask. I’m not looking to make money here, just get a fair deal. Their technical difficulties shouldn’t result in my paying extra shipping. And I managed to confirm that the other duplicate orders have been cancelled, so Dr. Quinn, Buffy S5 and Galaxy Quest should be the only issues.
Man! I was starting to wonder if the Universe was punishing me for my spending spree!
