All righty, people. I'm set to leave for MN tomorrow morning, so you might not hear from me until next week (after my new job starts!).
Did you know that I have 3,779 rollover minutes currently stored in my Cingular account? Sigh. I have the smallest plan they have! Maybe I should switch to pay-as-you-go. I hate those, though - I always feel very self-conscious whenever I use the minutes.
My arms and wrists are sore in the most middle-class way possible: I've been on my computer all day. I'm busy sorting and Photoshopping and editing together this year's The Niece movie for her birthday party this weekend. Genius takes time. Wish I could have found a proper video editing program that would take the video files my camera creates. Sadly, this year is limited to still photos again. Even programs that promise they take .MOV files never seem to take my .MOV files. Or even the DivX ones I was able to transcode them into (okay, one would, but it wouldn't do slow motion, which I definitely want). Well, I'm probably saving myself a lot of stress anyway.
I'm feeling very boring. Hung around the apartment much this weekend. Ex-Mr. G and I did a Terminator marathon on Saturday night - 1, 2, and 3. I had only seen 1 a couple times many years ago, so that was interesting. My love for 2 is ongoing. It was my first time seeing 3, and I can't figure out what's wrong with that film. It's just not compelling. I kept feeling like I could shut it off at any time and not really care what happens. I couldn't point to any specific issues, though - can't claim especially bad plot, dialogue, character, etc. Just ... didn't gel at all. Sad.
Linda Hamilton kicked all kinds of ass in 2. Even the little things, like the way she kind of did a little hop-skip down the hallway when she's breaking out of the hospital and running with the nightstick. So ready, so athletic, so completely primed. Obsessed with caring for her son, but not out of maternal instinct, and they never really soften that, which I totally respect in the filmmakers.
Ooh, Charter has upgraded my Moxi-Box! That's the Ti-Faux, if you're wondering. I can now hook up an external hard drive for more storage space, which surprises me. What do they get out of the feature? Just good PR? I'm definitely going to need to pick up the hard drive enclosure I've been considering. Since I immediately upgraded the hard drive in this laptop when I bought it, I've got a spare 160GB drive just lying around. Can you imagine how much TV I can fill that up with?!
Also, they've finally incorporated a feature to let you see how much space you have left on their drive. THANK you. Was that so difficult? Really.
Okay. Time to go finish packing. See you next week!
