Emma smiled tightly. “It’s kind of hard to forget, considering the result.”
Emily laughed softly. “I should have just buggered you, eh?”
Emma shook her head. “It’s worth it.”
“I wonder if you’ll ever tell her that?” She cupped Emma’s cheek and wouldn’t let her look away.
“She knows.”
I love how you're jumping back and forth in their timeline, and it gets me even more hooked to know more about them.
You're doing a great job with this prompt table so far=) Oh and I read Private Party, but I was in a rush and didn't have time to leave you a proper comment. There was a certain spookyness to it, I think I've heard a similar story to the one emily told, once. Also I think it's the first time I've ever read a story where cannibalism was worked into a food fetish setting =D

Is it weird that I didn't even notice that THE ENTIRE THING was about cannibalism? Because obviously that was what the Tanizaki story flirted with (of course the best part was that the first course they ate was pretty boring, but when they burped, the burps tasted delicious), and the question of whether they actually ate the korean woman or just the tempura coating weighed on me for ages, but seriously, i did not realize it was cannibalism. Wow. *bangs head against wall*

It's sort of embarrassing to admit, but I totally did not notice there were cannibalistic overtones in yesterday's fic. I was on a food=sex train of thought and just entirely missed it.
Someone needs to tell me these things!
I think this is not out of character for me. My appropriate-ness value judgment widget doesn't work properly. Mentioning Human Cheese at the dinner table with my grandmother who still thinks its 1940 was another incident of appropriateness malfunction. Cripes.
I am glad you're still thinking about it. I wish it was because of something i put in on purpose.

Now todays is... yummy.
God. I have got to stop with the food metaphors. I'm still disturbed :P

I suppose this is what i get for riffing off of Tanizaki who likes to live on the edge between the erotic and the perverse.
(Come to think of it, all three of my favorite Japanese authors occasionally associate cannibalism and eroticisim, so maybe I've become inured to it enough that it doesn't set off any alarms.)
