We're getting some of the summer monsoonal rain coming up from Nevada this morning. Rain this time of year is very rare and pretty sparse. So far a few drops managed to make it to the ground for about 10 minutes. I welcome the overcast skies though because I can spend more time in my garden in the morning getting some much needed work done. I harvested Greek oregano. If the only oregano you've ever had came from a plastic jar in a supermarket, you deserve to treat yourself to the Greek stuff. The oregano in American supermarkets comes from Mexico, and it's rather inferior.
I also harvested thyme.
This stuff is so tasty and versatile.
I have more cilantro now than I know what to do with. Time to make some salsa, if my tomatoes would ever get ripe. I also have no jalapeños ready either. If I'm lucky enough to still be here when the tomatoes get ripe I'll be happy.
I'll take more pictures of the garden when it's not so weedy. The nice thing about overcast skies, it's only 87 instead of 97.
