So I had a huge ego stroking today... ^_^, but I'm not sure whether to take it as a huge compliment, or a sign of the sub-par expectancies of the education system at A&M.
Anyway, cut to my 2301 LIT course (Literature up to the renaissance). Our last two writing assignments (I missed the first 2 :/) just finally got back to us after about a week or two of waiting for them. I wait a bit as the class scrambles to get their writings, and then casually stroll up when there is only about a dozen people there. As I'm doing so I overhear the teacher aid talking about "a really well written assignment. However it has all the names spelled wrong, as if they are using an older text". Knowing that I AM using an older text, I was thinking wonder if that is me? Sure enough, when I go up to get my paper, only one of the two assignments are there.
So I walk up to the aid and ask "is that my paper?" Telling me yes, he questions me as to which text I'm using (an old one from about two to three years ago), and he mentions the whole "well the names are spelled wrong." I point out that in my text, names are spelled like Kirke instead of Cerce, etc. I also point out that I did use a timeline to refresh my memory (seeing as how I had finished the Odyssey weeks before the actual assignment) and this may have affected certain spellings. However I actually wrote the assignment on my own. From here it basically broke down into a "well I just wanted to check that you actually did the assignment, and didn't copy this from somewhere." Seeing as how the only place it is posted is my
Deviantart page and now here, I may have to show him I control this journal or DA page at some point if he finds it.
Regardless, seeing the level of my work there (and the fact that I only spent like 3-4 hours on it), I'm not sure whether to take it as I'm that good, or the rest of the class is just that bad. Regardless, I now need to work on an apology from Dido to her husband, and the wheel are already turning. :p
