I don't know actually. Mr. Storm claims Cherokee descent. Perhaps it is from their people. Because of the settings (plains, woods, prarie and mountain) it would seems somewhere west rather then farther north or east.

Although it may not be even actually Native in origin. I do love the story though as a matter of personal perspective, especially when we are the curious ones that are told to get "normal" about ourselves.
