Summary:We cross paths, it rains, I fall in love and I don't know your name.
Here I am. We are suppose to meet here. Are you coming? Please do.
Do you remember the first time we met?
It was raining. I was all soaked, you were under an umbrella. I was cold, you were warm.
"You should bring an umbrella all the time, specially when it's rain season." you said.
I simply smile. You hand me over your scarf and one of your black gloves that perfectly match your outfit. Afterwards you left.
It smelled nice, the scarf. They were already warm because of you. I had an encounter with a stranger who gave me his scarf and I liked it.
I had no intentions in giving them back, did you know that?
After that day, I would never leave home without wearing the scarf. Something inside me was expecting to see you again. Some weeks went by and I had not see you, yet. It's not like I wanted to thank you for the actions you did the first time we met. Simply I wanted to hear your melodious voice and see your deep eyes, again.
As it began to rain I opened my umbrella and then I saw you, finally. You were sitting there, under a black umbrella. There's a guy next to you, apparently he is talking to you though you are not paying any attention to him.
Is he molesting you?
I decided to walk over where you and that guy were sitting. You stood up and reached for my arm to hug it.
"You are here, love." you firmly said. "What took you so long?"
I didn't have any idea what on earth was going on but still I played along.
"I was making a reservation at a restaurant, babe. Wanna go now?"
I didn't know why I had said that, perhaps it was the way you made me feel. I liked it. I liked the way you were holding onto me, calling me love, looking me that way.
You nod and turned to look at the other guy.
"Told you he was coming."
We left. It was a silent walk. Both umbrellas opened, next to each other. You broke the silent by asking "So, which restaurant are we going?" I stopped walking since I didn't know where to take you even worse, I didn't know you thought I was serious when I said that. You walked a few more steps and turned around "what?" I didn't say anything. Why was I unable to speak.
Say something, dammit!!
Then everything became silent.
It had stopped raining.
you closed your umbrella and walked towards me and slipped out your tongue. I was surprised.
"you look stupid, you know? I know I'm pretty and all but you...come on, stop it. It makes me want to see you more often." You then chuckled, it was nice. I had also closed my umbrella. Still unable to blurt a word you pad on my shoulder "See you around then." and began to walk away from me, but I had to say something, anything. So I reached for your hand and made you turned to look at me.
"Want your scarf back?" I asked, though I didn't want to give it back but it was the only thing it came across my mind.
You smiled. How come someone on earth possesses a smile only angels can have, maybe it's because you're an angel. You shook your head.
"Keep it. As a reminder." and left.
A reminder of what? of you? I didn't need any reminder to remember you. Meeting you once was enough to never leave my mind.
Days went by. I went for a walk at morning. It was cold and so I went to a nearby caffé. To my amusement, you were there sitting near a window, watching outside, hand under chin. I approached your table and sat down. I guess you noticed my presence as you fixed your stare to me but didn't faced me.
"I was expecting you." you said and finally faced me. Smiling.
I felt nervous.
"How come?" I asked as I smiled back to you. It wasn't as nice as your smile.
"I simply knew I would see you somewhere, today."
I was surprised but I was glad we met again.
We ordered some coffee and talked for what seemed hours to me. I had not kept quiet like I did the past two times. Every time you smiled or laughed my heart would skip a beat and I would think how pretty you looked and said it once but you abruptly stopped and I felt as I said something wrong and you started to laugh again, said thanks. I could feel how my face got red.
I didn't noticed when it started raining but the drops kept falling. The sun was starting to be seen nowhere. The orange sky, the cold weather, here with you, it was perfect.
Everything was perfect until you stood up and bid goodbye. You began to walk away from me, again. I felt disappointed as I didn't want this evening to never come to an end. I sigh and you were walking back, had you forgot something?
"You should wash the scarf from time to time." you said and finally left. I was all red.
He had noticed.
I stood up to leave. Suddenly a waitress called out for me and told me I hadn't payed for the coffees. I had forgotten. I apologized and felt embarrassed. She chuckled and told me not to worry. After I gave her the money she handed me a small paper.
My first thought was to throw it away, bet it was her phone number. Then again, I didn't lose anything if I saved her phone number. So I unfold it and read it.
'Thanks for the date.'
I smiled. It was from him.
After all, it was a date
Sunday arrived. I didn't want to get up but I had to. I took a shower and dressed up. I remember I had to buy some groceries. I drove all the way up to the grocery store
I went to grab some beers as I had ran out of them the other night my friends came over. I opened the freezer and grab a couple of six packs. When I closed the door you were standing there, smiling brightly to me
"We meet here, who would have guess." You grabbed my hand and looked at it and then looked at me "Don't drink too much." you said as you let go of my hand and pointed to the beers I was going to pay. We shared a small laugh and then you left
I finished shopping and walked towards my car with some bags
Everything was wet.
After all t had rained.
I didn't saw you for what seemed years to me, yet it had only been months. It was warm, raining season had come to an end but I would still were the scarf.
It had became a part of me.
My friends would always mock me about it. Saying stuff like 'hey, where did your Cinderella went?' 'You were born with that scarf on' or 'You sleep while hugging it , right? bet you even kiss it sometimes.' I would always ignored them.
It was Saturday night. I had plans on hanging out with the boys. I walked down the stairs of my apartment building and when I was about to opened the front door I noticed something was missing.
The scarf.
I went up again.
I heard some drops falling, it was raining. Perfect I thought, just perfect. Now I would have to carry an umbrella with me all night
I went down again and opened the front door to step outside
On the stairway there was a guy, not any guy but you
"Hey."
I was surprised to see him on the staircase to my apartment
"How did you know I live here?" I asked and you just stared and me and laugh loud. I was embarrassed because it was you, other wise I would have gotten angry.
"I didn't. This letter was mixed up with my mail. I thought of bringing it to the righ address."
"I see" I answered, disappointment could be noticed on my voice.
you walked my way and handed me the letter. It was a letter address to me, from my mother. I would read it later, there was something I had to do first.
"Wanna go up and get dry?" I asked.
You smiled not expecting that, I could tell, and nod.
We went up. Hands brushing from time to time until you grab it, said it was better this way. I simply agreed. I opened the door to my apartment and let you in. Showed you the bathroom and waited for you to come out.
Ten minuted later you did. A towel around your waist was all that was covering you. You looked sexy, that was my first thought.
"There are some clean clothes on my room. Please wear them." I said and grabbed your wet clothes to hang them outside the balcony.
I should have bought the dryer.
I guess I was outside too much since you were already sitting on the couch watching television when I came in.
"Thanks, I was cold."
I smiled. You looked cute in that white shirt, since it was bigger than you. "Hungry?" I asked.
"Beer?" You asked and I nodded. I went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator and grabbed two beers. I walked back to the couch and sat next to you and hand you the beer.
We sat there watching the TV.
I then turned to looked at you and stared for a while. You then turned to see me as you noticed.
"What?"
I was spacing out thinking how beautiful you are that didn't noticed how long I stared at your face. I shook my head, "nothing" and turned to the TV.
The movie was over.
You turned off the TV and stood up and I looked at you. You didn't seem to feel well, because in fact, you weren't good. I stood up and grab you by your shoulders to make you sit down. You did. I place my hand on your forehead.
You were burning on fever.
I told you to go lay on my bed and you obediently did. I went to the kitchen to grab some medicine to calm down your fever. I sat on the edge of the bed and hand you the pills and glass of water for you to take it. You took the pills and soon you drift into sleep.
I was still sitting on the edge, watching you sleep.
You look so beautiful asleep.
I stood up, though I didn't want to but I had seen my phone rang a couple of times before. When I found where my cellphone was I checked I had 5 missed calls and 2 text messages, all from the boys asking where was I.
I reply to one of them.
Sorry cant make it. Something came up. enjoy
I then remember why he was here, mom's letter. I picked it up from where I had left it and opened it. It was a birthday card. I smiled and placed it on the kitchen counter and went back to my bedroom to sleep on the other side of bed.
It was my birthday, after all
The rain hadn't stopped
The next day I woke up but there was no one on the other side of bed
You had left. I felt sad. I had hopped to see you on the morning. Guess it won't happen. I went to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast since I was hungry. I found a piece of paper laying on the counter
'Thanks, sorry for the inconvenient.
happy birthday (saw the card).
Hope I hadn't ruined any plans you had.'
That was the last time I saw you.
A years had pass and I hadn't see you again. I had stop wearing the scarf as I had lost all hopes in seeing you again. It is my birthday again, the last time a saw you. I didn't feel like celebrating it, as it reminded me of your departure
I went for a small stroll at the park and sat down when I found a bench. I looked up at the sky and felt some small drops hitting my face, I smile nostalgically.
"Hey" someone said next to me.
That voice!
opened my eyes and turned to see who it was. To my surprise, it was you. I felt happy.
"I have been looking for you, you know" You said, not facing me. You placed a small bag on my lap and stood up as if leaving. I was not going to let you leave this easily again and so I grabbed your hand.
"Want to go out tonight?" I asked, a little bit nervous.
"A date?"
"You can call it that." I said.
"Took you long." you reply then you smiled and left.
I was still sitting on the park bench thinking...
'it took me long? He had been waiting for me to ask him? why didn't he ask me first? I wouldn't have said no.' I then came back to earth and noticed I hadn't told him where.
"Stupid me" I said and stood up.
It was already 5 o'clock and I was sad I hadn't find you around to tell you where. Guess you didn't have any intentions to show up. I went to my flat and got into clean clothes after a hot shower.
I went to the caffé we had out first date without me knowing it.
I sat down and waited for a waitress to come and pick my order when a little girl came over and pulled my shirt softly and handed me a paper. She ran out of my sight after that.
'Found you!
Yuhmie's Restaurant.
6:21
I'll wait for you.'
Had you known I would come here?
Wait! it's almost 6. I better hurry
Why on earth would you chose a restaurant so far away if you knew I was going to be here. Why not simply wait here for me to come. Stupid. I went back to my apartment as the caffé wasn't far away from my place and changed into something more formal and grab the keys of my car and drove off.
6:40pm
Dammit. I'm late. They let me in as if they knew me. I looked for you all over the restaurant and didn't find you. I guess you hadn't arrive yet. So I sat on an empty table and ordered for a bottle of wine. I close my eyes and remember your face.
I can clearly hear it has start to rain.
Here I am. We are suppose to meet here. Are you coming? Please do.
I finished remembering every time I crossed path with you.
7:42pm
I stood up to leave, you are not coming.
I asked for the bill, payed and when I was about to leave the restaurant a firm grip was around my wrist.
"It's not polite for your date to wait, you know?" you smiled and let go of my wrist. I was surprised.
"I came and didn't find you any where."
"I'm outside." you said.
The only place I hadn't looked for you. Stupid me.
"Should we go to our table, then?" you smiled again.
I nod and you grab my hand.
I blushed.
It was raining but our table was under a small roof big enough to cover a big part of all the terrace. It had candles all over, so romantic I thought.
I finally said.
"I don't know your name."
You laugh as it was a joke
"It seems someone didn't look at the glove, did you?" you said.
"What glove?"
You pulled out a black leather glove.
Now I remember, not only you gave a scarf but also a black glove and I understood that maybe your name was engraved in it. You turned and place your hands on the edge of the railing. I walked over and place my hand over yours and entwined our fingers.
"It seems every time we meet it's raining, had you noticed?" You asked me and I nod though I hadn't noticed until now.
"Kazuya, Kamenashi Kazuya" you said as you look at me.
"Suits you." I reply. It really did.
"yours?"
"Jin, Akanishi Jin."
"I see you no longer wear the scarf." you mark out.
"I no longer need it."
"you're right. I already found you."
We smiled and I pulled your arm towards me to make you lose balance and catch you in a hug. "I'm not letting you walk away, again" You chuckle as you knew what I meant. "I won't" you reassured me. I lean down to catch your lips and give a small kiss.
From that day on, I would meet Kazu every day, even though it was not raining.
I had fell for a stranger on the rain almost half and a year ago.
I love him.
And he loves me.
