I survived one of those endless meeting days at work. I was never so glad that I had leftovers from the night before either, because my technical lead decided to pass his changes to one of my documents an hour before I had to present it to our customers. So, I was busy making corrections, printing and stapling while I was snarfing bites where I could. However, the customers approved my proposed changes to one of our deliverables, so I guess in the end it was worth it.
Like I mentioned last entry, as I get back into Shadows of the Heart, the story is starting to re-coalesce in my mind. Today's writing came a lot easier and I'm recapturing Jack O'Neil's patented snarkiness. As
Wishweaver likes to point out, I do enjoy writing the smart-aleck types. Course, she claims I'm just channeling my inner curmudgeon, but I have no clue what she's referring to.
I hit 1759 words tonight, which makes me a little more comfortable about meeting my deadline. While I expect to get big chunks done on the weekend, I would love to average 1500 words during the week. That would let me finish this story with enough time to give it a good scrub before I have to submit it. Probably won't have time for a major rewrite, but every edit helps.
And now, it's time for bed.
