Unfortunately, our house is still under construction, so I am currently writing in the living room on my laptop. Which is not normally a big issue, except now that I'm trying to get back into the writing habit and the daughter-unit is wanting to watch TV. The small TV is disconnected at the moment for the contractors to finish work in the basement and get the new family room in shape. Therefore, if she wants to see TV, she has to do it in here with me. It's going to be a test of my writing concentration to see how much actual writing I get done.
I did get some writing done, when I wasn't having to go back through my sources for reference material. I developed the pitch for Shadows of the Heart a year ago March. Back then, all of this was fresh in my mind. Now, I know what I want to write about, but the small little details you need to throw in for a tie-in novel aren't as clear. So it's write . . . look something up . . . write some more . . . read the show transcript . . . write . . .
I'm hoping my speed will pick up by the end of the week as this becomes more second-nature to me. Still, I added 1181 words to the story tonight. Not too shabby for starting back up.
And now, it's time to call it a night and get ready for another exciting day of tech writing tomorrow.
