Our Walmart? Sucks rocks.
No Barricade gift bags. (Which was the object of my quest.) No TF gift wrap or party favors or anything in the cards/party supplies section. Nothing. Plenty of "Cars" stuff, though, and how old is that movie???? :p
Wandered over to the toy section. They'd gotten in a shipment of TF stuff. They had gotten in the bigger toys (Ironhide, Ratchet, Starscream, Blackout.) They had gotten something called "Real Gear Robots." They had some of the voice changer helmets. But Barricade? Nooooooooo... Even the two CyberSlammer versions of him that had been left after I bought mine were gone.
Glanced around in kids' clothing, for the heck of it. Nothing TF to be seen.
Checked out the backpacks, of which they had a lot since school starts in the middle of August around here. Anything TF? Noooooooo...
Wandered over to housewares, looked in the bathroom stuff, hoping for a beach towel. Nothing TF to be seen. Lots of Spiderman crap, and who gives a flip about Spiderman? :p
Wandered over to bedding and, lo and behold, found some stuff. They had comforters in twin- and full-size and fleece blankets. Bought a fleece blanket. I'm not entirely sure what it has on it, since the picture on the packaging is of the comforter (The hell?), but I guess I'll find out. If it's the same image as on the comforter, then it's Optimus. Which is OK. I'm cool with cuddling with Optimus on a cold winter's night, if only because he won't grumble about it nearly as much as Barricade would. ;) The bedsheets and shams look cool on the packaging. And the sheets have Barricade on them. Did Walmart have any sheet sets? OF COURSE NOT! :p
So, I purchased something frozen for lunch and my fleece blanket and left, feeling thoroughly defeated. It's hard to keep feeling defeated, though, when you're blaring the fourth movement of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony at about 1,000 decibels on your rockin' car stereo. (Have I ever mentioned how much I love my car stereo? Bose is love. :) )
So, I feel better. Plus, I have an ace-in-the-hole when it comes to the bags after which I was questing. Oh, tformergrl...
