To say that Wesley was...confused, would be a gross understatement. Here they were, working for *the* enemy they'd been fighting against for years. No, Angel had explained, they weren't working *for* the enemy. The enemy was working for them. Which made no sense in Wesley's book but very little else did these days ( ... )

Lilah had easily managed to get past Wesley's ditz of a secretary, by telling her she had a meeting with Wesley. She’d used that particular excuse at least four times alone in the last week; it wasn’t her fault that Wesley hired such an incompetent secretary. She walked into his office and sat herself down in one of the chairs that sat in front of his desk. “So what does his majesty have you researching this week?” She rarely if ever referred to Angel as boss. She shifted in her seat and crossed her legs. She could easily tell that this was a bad time, but that was half the fun. Lately she’d been purposely showing up in Wesley’s office when she knew he had a lot going on, just so she could see him. If there was one thing that she’d missed before being allowed back on this plane it had been being able to see and be near Wes. In a way she was still pissed at Angel for having done the memory spell on his friends; she also hated being the only other person who knew the truth, mainly because she saw first hand how it was affecting Wesley ( ... )

If there was something Wesley didn't like it was getting disturbed while working. He hadn't liked it when he was just the researcher for Angel Investigations and Cordelia or Gunn would distract him with inane questions. And he didn't like it when he was working for a multi million dollar lawfirm and his secretary - the woman was usually very good at her job so he could guess who had slid past her - didn't manage to keep anyone out ( ... )

Lilah frowned, it was one thing when the underlings of this place called her Miss Morgan, but it was a whole other story when it came from Wes. It sounded so wrong and utterly foreign to her. "It's Lilah, and there wasn't anything specific I just figured you've kept yourself locked away in here since six this morning you need to learn how to break away from your work sometimes Wes. Take a coffee break or something, hell go for a walk you can't keep yourself chained to that desk all day otherwise you're bound to slowly go insane."

He was well aware that he name was - is - Lilah. But hearing the small annoyance in her voice made him smile slightly. Wesley didn't smile often lately, or at all. And this wasn't a smile he had often shown when it had been just the three of them working the evil forces. Him, Angel and Cordelia ( ... )

She frowned again at his words; this being around him without all of his memories, was becoming more and more difficult than she'd originally thought it would be. "Oh that’s right you're more the Earl Grey kind of guy. And trying to finish all that...,” She motioned to the ever growing stack of papers on his desk. "Is pointless you'll just have another stack that size or higher tomorrow. Besides even Angel your oh so fearless leader knows when to quit, not that he even knows what he's doing lately, but that's not the point. And as for time, please I have all the time in the world, I'm dead so it's not like I'm going anywhere, but fine I'll leave to your work, maybe Spike'll be more fun" She got up and started to head for the door, silently hoping that he'd stop her, there by proving to herself that she'd gotten somewhere with him this time. She knew Angel didn't want his friends to know about the spell, but being the only other person that had to share his burden was pissing Lilah off, so she'd tried dropping subtle hints each time ( ... )

When she mentioned her being dead he couldn't help but wince. There was a brief flash of an axe and her laying on some kind of table. Wesley frowned, trying to chase that flash before it was gone. But it *was* gone before he could actually figure out what that was all about ( ... )

She sighed a bit dramatically. "Right, fine you're busy I'll just go." She turned and had only gotten as far as placing her hand on the door handle before he said her name, for the first time in weeks. She turned back to him, "Yeah?" She stood there waiting for him to finish, when he didn't she sighed again. "Good luck with the work Wes" She turned around and left his office going to find Spike.
