I expected the Finns to get beat by the U.S., and quite badly... I didn't expect the MASSACRE that was that game. 6-1. The six were made all within in the first period, most within the first 8 minutes. Miettinen scored the one in the bottom part of the third. We loves him for salvaging some dignity.
Oh well. Here's the Bronze. And if the men follow the women's example, it will be all good.
Skating last night? Nicely played. Props to Korea. Totally deserved.
Now onto my anime analysis/summary of my last two weeks up to this point >.>
So I've watched an unhealthy amount of anime (or finished in some cases) over the past two weeks, so I figure why not write about them? (note, names are links)
Title:
Hanasakeru SeishounenGenre: reverse harem, drama, romance, shoujo
Plot Summary: Kajika is the daughter of a wealthy businessman who was raised on a remote island. When she turns 16 she's brought from her island and set to play a game with her father. If she finds one of the three men he's chosen for her to marry, and choices, he will tell her her destiny.
Eps Watched: 4/39
Comments: When I heard the summary I was skeptical. But Kajika is a really strong female character, which makes the premise interesting. I haven't gotten that far, but there's been something in every ep that's made me smile. So if you don't mind shoujo, I'd give it a rec.
Title:
Saint Beast: Kouin Jojishi Tenshi TanGenre: Action, Shonen-ai, Fantasy
Plot Summary: Follows the selection and actions of six "saint beasts" angels who become a fourth class based on animals. For what purpose I'm not sure yet, but, we'll see.
Eps Watched: 4/13
Comments: Okay, so you take Zeus' horrible temper and add in bishies, and this is what you get. I didn't expect anything amazing from this and so far this has been the result. It's not bad, it's just too slow for my liking. Though I find a couple of the characters quite enjoyable. Over all, it's probably better as one of those: if you have nothing else to do animes. But keep in mind, that I say this at the 4th ep. but of a short series, I feel like it shouldn't take THIS long to get to the BASE of a predictable plot. (these characters we were introduced to become the saint beasts. This should be a one ep thing.
Title:
SukishoGenre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, School Life, Shoujo, Shounen Ai, Slice of Life, Tragedy, and a bit of psychological.
Plot Summary: When Sora wakes up from being in coma after falling out of a window at school, he's lost his memories. Not soon after his childhood friend transfers to his school. Who he then ends up sharing a dorm room with. The two are caught up between a crazy friend and his task force, school life, all while Sora tries to regain his memories. Did I mention that Sora and Sunao have split personalities that come out when they're off guard that are lovers? Yeaaa...
Eps Watched: 12/13 (thoguht there wereonly 12 XD)
Comments: I started this series a couple years ago, but found again and decided to finish. Amusing, entertaining, not something you really feel like you have to stick to in order to enjoy, except for the last arc of eps.
Title:
Dance in the Vampire BundGenre: Action, Horror, Vampire, Drama, bits of romance
Plot Summary: Vampires are revealed as non-fiction, the leader of them demanding being recognized as a force and given an island she already owns as a place for vampires to congregate and live. Why would the Japanese do this? Oh, she owns thier economy of sorts! What's that? She made a promise with this mysterious boy who can't remember his past? Oh. right. about that...
Eps Watched: 7/ ?? 12? Ongoing.
Comments: So there's nothing TERRIBLY unique about this series. That being said, the current 7 eps that have been released feel like a solid story arch and wasn't unpleasant. If you can get over the bits of shota it's not bad. But then again, Mina reminds you over and over that she's a force to be reckoned with. What I loved about this series was that the every-day-japanese-girl-other-love-interest was actually really likeable! And Mina's driver rocks my socks. And it's pretty.
Title:
Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Harem, School Life, Seinen
Plot Summary: Enter a school where you're separated into 6 classes, A-F. A class is treated like royalty while F...well, think abandoned school house. Watch as the F class struggles to make their way up to A and make the establishment pay!
Eps Watched: 8/ ?? ongoing.
Comments: Of all the animes I started, I never expect to love this one the most. THIS ANIME KICKS ASS. Okay, so it's not the best ever. But I rarely cease to stop laughing during it. IT takes ALL of the most popular character and storyline cliches, throws in a couple refs to other animes (at least I say they are. Heads up to FMA and Kuroshitsuji fans) and a game here or there, and dueling animes. And you get Baka. TOTALLY rec. But if you're offended of fanservice...not the best anime for you. I mean, there is a character who doesn't have a name. He's called voyuer. No. I'm serious.
Title:
Ginban KaleidoscopeGenre: Sports, Comedy, Fantasy, Romance, Seinen, Drama-ish
Plot Summary: When an air pilot is killed the same moment as a star skater falls and is knocked out he comes to possess her body for a 100 days until he pays for his sins.
Eps Watched: 3/12
Comments: I thought this would be an incredibly appropriate anime to start. Before I did I went: Okay this is going to be incredibly girly. I was wrong. Tazusa is HILARIOUS. She has a temper. She pouts. She is NOT your cutesy anime chick. And then Pete is just this sad Canadian who's trying to do his best in the situation. And hates tomatoes. It's been wonderful so far!
That being said, I'm TOTALLY open to recs as I'm caught up with the new series and I'm not 100% sold on finishing any of the others at the moment.
And on a last note, SG/SGA stuff is being auctioned off on ebay. I wish I had the money. oh how I wish. Elizabeth's shirt, uniform shirt, and watch are up for grabs. As well as sheppard's leather jacket, uniform, and Michael's trench coat. Among other thigns. (props, Rodney stuff...)
