Oy with the Poodles Already...

I called it months ago, but after essentially hitting rock bottom, things are going amazingly. I started packing for the Big Move. Mostly small inconsequential stuff - two boxes of books, a box of DVDs, and some winter clothes - but it feels so good! After so many weeks of holding it inside, keeping it a secret (badly), it's nice to be able to talk about getting out of Colchester. Even more, it feels real. Packing my things seems to have been the trigger for this to really sink in. I'm moving! What could be better than that?!?!

Oh, yeah. Driving lessons. Not real ones - I'm moving into my first apartment, like I have the cash to spend on driving lessons? - but Mr. Carbonneau is helping me out. It's apparently going pretty well, too. I've been on the road for a total of 4 hours, and I'm getting pretty comfortable with it. I'm certainly not going to be taking my test in the next week or anything, but certainly soon. The first lessons was mostly "This is the brake" and "You drive in the right lane" type silly stuff, with a little actual driving. Very slooooow driving. Lesson numero deux was much more hardcore. We got all the way up to 40 (in a 50 zone, whoops), then took a right turn. Then took a left turn. Then got up to 50 (in a 55 zone, yay!). Then I took a left-hand turn in traffic. That was not so much fun, and the asshole behind me was blaring his horn. To which I muttered to Mr. Carb "I don't know what I'm DOOOING!!!!" in the highest octave my voice could manage. Scratch that - in a higher octave than I even thought my voice could manage. And THEN, my true success, he took me on the highway. Briefly, and only for one exit, but it was still a major highway, and I was going 60mph!!! My heart almost fell out of my chest, and I think I may have peed just a teensy bit (totally joking) but we survived. Then we went back to Casa De Carbonneau and Kevin, Lauru and I watch Ranman 1/2.

The last week has been amazing!

And in response to Teh Drama going on in LJ world th last couple of days... I'm sick of it. My sister always say "Violence is not the answer," but it seems to me that words can have a much more damaging effect than steel. I hope my friends who are hurting are doing well, and you all have my deepest sympathies. Call, text, email, or IM me whenever you want. My phone is always on.
