Deep Thinking

I don't know if I'm a "deep thinker" or not. Some people consider "deep thinking" different things. I'm gonna refer to just stuff about literature now ( Read more... )

I agree when it comes to actual literature, i.e. stories. Shakespear, Dickenson, Poe, etc are usless in today's world. The only possible benefit they may have is expanding your vocabulary and helping you to read faster. But you could achieve the same things by reading the Federalist Papers.

When it comes to old political classics, i.e. Friedman's Capitalism and Freedom, anything by Hayek, etc, those can improve your political thinking and I think anyone seriously interested in politics as a career should read those.

Good postings lately about tax cuts and stuff. I haven;'t been able to respond as much as I'd like b/c I've been so busy preparing to go to Washington to intern again... ttyl BYE!

Yea, don't feel bad though, UofL isn't exactly a bastion of hard workers.

Thanks about the postings. Yea, I'm going to try to intern in DC this fall, at either Heritage or Cato. Where are you interning?

Yea, it is, but I'm a Kentucky fan. Although Pitino is a great coach, I'll give him that.

And just wait until he gets all his own players in there. Then I'm afraid I'll really hear it from my friends who know that I'm a UK fan.

Thats weird, you go to Louisville but youre a Kentucky fan. That's like if I went to Univ of FLorida and I was a Florida State fan...
