I agree when it comes to actual literature, i.e. stories. Shakespear, Dickenson, Poe, etc are usless in today's world. The only possible benefit they may have is expanding your vocabulary and helping you to read faster. But you could achieve the same things by reading the Federalist Papers.
When it comes to old political classics, i.e. Friedman's Capitalism and Freedom, anything by Hayek, etc, those can improve your political thinking and I think anyone seriously interested in politics as a career should read those.
Does that come in Cliff's Notes? lol Thats how lazy they get us at UF...
