Yesterday I killed my aquatic life/deep water phobia by forcing myself to snorkel around a coral reef. For the first fifteen minutes I was cursing out everyone in sight and paddling to shore (we had to jump off a boat into the reef), but I eventually settled down and did some exploring. It was awesome and I even saw a shark. It was a blacktip shark and it was just cruising along, not eating any of the fish or anything. I also saw trumpetfish, parrotfish, clownfish, sea cucumbers, and a few others that I couldn't really identify.
I'm almost done reading "The Celestine Prophecy". At first I was really skeptical about it but I'm starting to get really into it, and it's even making sense, which is odd because I gave up literature on mysticysm years ago.
Today I did nothing but go swimming, lay in a hammock listening to Bob Marley, ate, and read. It was pretty awesome. We're on an island now, with nothing else around but tonight we're going to the mainland for dinner to this place that gives out free shots, which is awesome since there's no minimum drinking age here. If I've learned anything on this vacation so far, it's that Vietnam is awesome, I know less about myself than I thought, and Mai Tai's and Pina Coladas go very well with karaoke.
