Hi LJ, it's been a while! So much great stuff has been happening in MCR fandom recently - the Conventional Weapons announcement, Professional Griefers, Gerard being adorable at Morrisoncon, Gerard being even more adorable with Becky Cloonan and Shaun Simon at NY Comic Con (seriously, how beautiful are the three of them together?) <3
I'm going to a comic con in Leeds next month, by no means as big as the US conventions, but Becky Cloonan will be there sketching live! There's also a great-looking Women In Comics panel, and loads of other fun stuff. I'm also looking forward to watching cosplayers, and also being able to chat to and support independent and new creators and artists \0/
I'm so happy, tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2013 went on sale last week and I managed to snag a ticket, after an hour spent grimly refreshing the booking website. I so much want MCR to play Glastonbury. Please, let it happen next year! Although, no matter what bands are playing, Glastonbury will always be this amazing, fantasy-theatre-performance art-weirdness spectacular. So glad to be going back :D.
What else - yeah, this evening I downloaded Frank Iero's 'This Song is A Curse' from iTunes, and oh god I hate iTunes SO MUCH. It wouldn't let me log in until I'd set THREE goddamn security questions-and-answers. Felt very much like answering all three with swearwords, frankly. But the song is so worth it, hearing Frank sing gives me all the fuzzy feelings in the world. And I'm wondering why I haven't bothered to listen to Frank's side-project stuff before. I'm curious, can anyone tell me if the Leathermouth album sounds similar to This Song Is A Curse? (I'm definitely getting it though, regardless, because - FRANK).
