THIS! I was like HOLDING MY BREATH and READING IT REALLY SLOWLY because I DID NOT WANT IT TO END! My chest hurts and shit and I kind of have stupid tears all over my face, damn you!
Aw, yay! You flatter me!
The idea that Godric had this with him when he stepped into the sun, that Nate existed and Eric could appreciate what that meant like he did and that their story was known by someone like Nate and that he'd get this stupid postcard and it might be a good thing for him because TINY MAKER PANTS LOVED HIM!!! OMG MY HEART!
Godric wants to die, and he's ready, but he doesn't want to be completely forgotten, especially not by Eric. And he wants Eric to be happy when he's gone. There's Pam, and there will be that Sookie Stackhouse girl, Godric thinks maybe there should be Nate too, because Godric remembers that happiness.
I WANT BRAD'S POV SO BAD! Sitting at that table, having Nate's six and then doing whatever hot dirty things Nate asked him for later after hearing about ERIC!He ( ... )

I'm so intrigued now, wondering what this Nate thought the first time that he saw Brad, after having known Eric. I want to know everything about their relationship -- what Brad thinks and feels about it all, what both of them think when they hear that Godric is dead, and what Eric really thinks about the two of them. I would love to know if Eric ever sees and meets Brad in this world.
You always write gorgeous work, but the atmosphere on this piece... you've really outdone yourself. Brava!

I like this image for Godric's stillness. The sense of hunting non-maliciously, of waiting for Nate to come to him.

This seems to be the next step, although even I don't know the story yet (although I'm sure it will come to me soon!).

I have to admit that I'm equally as curious as to Eric's true thoughts on Nate's time in Iraq. Of course, you've mentioned it in passing, but I would be fascinated with a more in depth exploration of that time.
Just out of curiosity, what happened to the cat? Does he still live at that bench?

(God, stop giving things to think about! It's so much more interesting than film theory!)

I actually have no idea. I'm not even sure where the cat comes from, but he probably misses his weird, dead-smelling, very still acquaintance.

Aw, thank you! <3
But oh, it's so sad for everyone, even as it is hopeful.
This is exactly what I wanted!
