The Departed was really not a very good movie, especially in comparison to the other nominees. In fact, it was long, dull, and cliched. Yet, somehow it managed to win the Oscar for both direction and best picture. BOO ACADEMY.
I loved Meryl Streep's little hippie outfit and the way she completely went along with the Emily Blunt/Anne Hathaway sketch. And Ellen was hilarious of course. Helen Mirren completely deserved her Oscar; The Queen was a wonderful film. I was very surprised that Pan's Labyrinth didn't win for best foreign language film, but I never saw any of the other ones, so I supposed the German one may have been better (though that's hard to imagine.) Jennifer Hudson also deserved her award 100%, which is a hard thing to say about someone who was discovered on American Idol, but it's true.
And Pilobilus makes my life complete.
