Singapore can totally be done for cheap!!! I always love browsing through the used bookstore complex for that perfect book, buying lunch at a grocery store, and sitting down somewhere to read and people watch. The Marina Bay area is awesome for wandering around at night (which is totally safe) and taking pictures--the Singapore Flyer is beautiful at night. Eat in hawker centers!! Cheap and delicious!! There's also a street market in the Bugis area that is good for shopping if you just have to buy;) Cheap accommodation (clean and safe) can be found in that area too--or the Little India district. I love Singapore!! Wish I was going again!!
I'm working part-time at the moment and trying to work on my art/improve portfolio/get art jobs the rest of the time, but I wish wish wish we lived in a two-bedroom flat so I could have a dedicated place to get on with it. At the moment we're in a studio flat and it's so hard to stay focussed and go stir crazy! It'd be at least a bit easier if I had a room, no matter how small, specifically in which to do my work (I still think I'd get cabin fever, but I wouldn't be so endlessly distractable). We're hoping to move soonish, but first I need to get a steady job with at least a few more hours. Gah!
So yeah, I kind of know how you feel. Your current job sounds pretty good, I hope you can find something else once it's finished! :)
thanks & goodluck with everything! yeah, i know what you mean about having a dedicated workspace. :( i hope you can move into a bigger place soon so you can have one. :)
