another part of kyushoku (school lunch) has made it into my kitchen. tonight i decided to try what i now dub "omgthekindalilfishies" (めひかり), which are the pre-teen cousins of
omgthelittlefishies (ちりめんじゃこ). these omgthekindalilfishies are a few times bigger than omgthelittlefishies, but thankfully the heads are atleast cut off. still, you eat everything else including bones and fins and for that reason i think a lot of foreigners probably would rather not eat them. ^^; i, on the other hand, have come to rather like them. D;
tonight, having no recipe or knowledge of how they`re often prepared in kyushoku, i just (seasoning) salted, floured and fried them. they turned out delicious. 8) i ate them almost as if they were chips or fries without any condiments... D;
i will def be cooking omgthekindalilfishies again. maybe next time i`ll marinate `em in soysauce or something. :`x
