RECKLESS DRIVERS AND BIKES
asdfssdfsd FRIGGIN RECKLESS DRIVERS URGH!! i was THIS close-- THIS CLOSE

from being hit by a stupid driver not 5 minutes ago. >:[ i was already out in the crosswalk and the friggin guy was speeding into a far-hand turn to make it across the intersection before traffic came and he didn`t even look! didn`t even slow down at all, if i hadn`t seen his ass and hadnt stopped just in time... :`[ i swear my tire almost touched his car.
but no, i`m not bitching just because i could have almost died-- i`m bitching because almost being hit by a car is a COMMON occurance. i swear almost every day i bike i almost get hit by a car, but today`s was the closest scariest yet. :`[ and it`s not just me-- ALL of the ALTs in my office ALL bike and ALL of us have plenty of tales of almost getting hit by cars. i swear, sometimes we`ll be sitting in the BOE office and someone will mention almost being hit by a car and then we`ll all chime in with our own latest stories of near run-ins with death via cars nearly hitting our bikes. D; it`s friggin sad.
i wonder if Kochi City is just particularly bad at drivers not friggin` looking for bikers, or if this is a national problem. i wonder how many bikers get hit by cars on average in Japan. D; especially in Kochi City. on the main streets there`s an electronic sign that tells people to drive safely and tells the number of people killed in traffic accidents for the current month. i bet the number of bicyclists killed by drivers would be much higher! :`[
i`m a hella cautious/paranoid biker because of how often people don`t see look for me. D; this is probably what saved me today.
