At this risk of becoming that guy, I wanted to put up a poem I wrote during Church. Some people get their best thinking done in the bathroom, for me it's definitely Church. When I was little and I said something like "I feel like a (melted M&M)" (meaning I feel like eating one) my mom would always respond "That's funny, you don't look like a (melted M&M)"

Just a random anecdote, thought you'd enjoy.

so, after reading your poem, I was inspired to write my own. I might also be posting it on my lj, but to make sure you know your poem was the inspiration, here it is, too:

my shell is not made of candy
my dear
it is not sweet
not fragile
will not melt
in the palm of your hand
under the touch
of your fingers or tongue
you cannot leave me on the dashboard
of your car
expect me to become soft
in your absence
reveal my dark inner secrets
love
to me
is no snack break

Wow, that was great. If the sole purpose of my posting that poem was to inspire such a cool response, it was worth the five-odd minutes it took to type it in. I love it when poems can riff off of each other like that. Thanks!
