My exam is in 3 hours and it is a 3 hour exam.  I was able to prepare in advance 20 lines of hieroglyphs that will be on the exam from a variety of sources, so I don't know which ones it will be from (he said either a long passage or 2 short ones).  Jacco was nice enough to say it would not be  a Coffin Text or a magical spell (which eliminated 4 ( Read more... )

seriously I've had some kind of food epiphany. I don't even feel deprived at all when I could have junk food. and I still have a teensy bit but I'm conscious about it and how much it will affect my overall goal. calorieking.com is SO helpful. Also I've found that when I am eating good meals and snacking throughout the day, when I get the option of junk food, I don't even care because I'm just not hungry. Basically what I do is write down everything I eat for the three big meals and then have a section for snakcs for the day and I also track the number of servings of fruits and veggies in a day. then at the end of the day I tally it up. You might even be surprised that maybe you aren't eating enough calories. I've been aiming for around 1700 a day and then as I become more active I'm probably going to raise that a bit.

I lost a pound already. it's not a lot but I'm proud of it and it's a start. good luck! keep me posted.

Ooohhh dude, i totally recommend Fit Day as a general food/weight/exercise/everything journal. It works quite well. I'm sporadic with it, but when I get on a roll it's really good.

Thanks, I've got myself an account now! I'm not sure how they calculate all the calories, but for things with labels I'm going to add my own as new entries and for things that aren't, I think I'm going to use the calorieking.com website. Tomorrow I get to start going back to the gym (now that I'm over mono 100% and my exam is over!)
