I had an interesting conversation with a friend on Tuesday. He recently started seeing this guy who is only out to a few people, but his dorm mates or his family. And when my friend went to surprise visit him in the residence halls, he freaked out. They had a huge row and aren't talking presently, but I had to remind him that he was incredibly fortunate that when he came out, nobody cared. And it's not that this boy's friends will probably freak out, but that fear is always present.

There are a lot of people on the internet that I've discovered who have a deep hate for Karofsky and no empathy, and yet at the same time, just the night before Chris Colfer's amazing acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, someone very close to where I live committed suicide because of bullying. And when there are public officials in Arkansas stating they think all gays should kills themselves, well... Of course Karfosky is going to be afraid.

Sorry, this comment is getting way long. It's just that I have so much to say in... not necessarily defense because you're right, I don't condone what he's doing... but in hope for him. That scene in Figgin's office with his dad? Karofsky was completely different person, and he could be like that all the time.
