I'm! Not! Thrilled! I'm not a big fan of holidays in general. I think too many people forget what they're really all about and focus on the stuff that shouldn't matter - DRIVING NICCI BATTY! Frankly I hate the whole Santa thing. We're not doing it with Vincent at all. If he asks, we'll tell him that it's a story, like his other stories; if he sees a Santa at the shops we'll tell him it's a man dressed as Santa, but we're not going to tell him that Santa's going to bring him presents.
He has a big pile of presents this year, and you better bet we're telling him they're from us (and his grandparents, and so on). That jolly cat burgler gets no credit in this house!
I'm an old Scrooge at the best of times. It's getting easier (well, except for this year, but that's another story) because instead of having to justify not getting into "the magic of Christmas", I can instead simply focus on the fact that my little boy is going to be totally excited with his presents, and it's a good excuse for making decorations together which he'll also love. He's also going to light him himself when I light up the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, and I'm doing these things for him, not for me.
Shitty year is shitty. Roll on 2010.

My Neuro appt. was cancelled yesterday, and I still don't know when it will be. He did call in a wonder-drug for the dizziness, so that's a good thing. I finally am without the pukes when I open my eyes.
Yep! Roll on 2010!
