Try, try and try again
I think it is just as important to post on your failed attempts as your successes. Failing is just a lesson for the next experiment you make. Inspired by a friend posting an apple peel & core jelly recipe, I decided to try and make some from my fruit cocktail scraps. (I'll post on the fruit cocktail soon.) I used the peels from apples, pears, nectarines and peaches as well as the cores from the apples and pears. Everything went smoothly until I decided to taste the boiled juice and found it tasted horrible. I'm sure someone somewhere would enjoy the flavor, but for me and my husband it was way too wonky of a fruit mix. Next time I make fruit cocktail, I will only reserve the scraps from the apples and pears to try this one more time.
