The talents of James Pharr...

Yesterday I wrote a GREAT essay in Molly's class. I'm feeling really good about this one. Unfortunately, I don't possess Keating and Pharr's talents of gold-plating all the bullshit they wrote about last year. It's not that simple for me.

Also, my Dad informed me that because of his call schedule at the hospital I would be driving myself to Austin and doing the whole Longhorn Saturday thing alone. I was thrilled, and now it looks like Aaron and friends will be following me there to keep me company. I'm pretty excited about seeing David; this will be my first time to see David since we left him in Austin over a month ago. I can't wait.

"Describe a significant setback, challenge or opportunity in your life and the impact that it has had on you."

This is one of my essay prompts for the A&M application. I thought a rule-of-thumb as far as college applications go was to NOT write about a hardship in your life and how you overcame it. My initial reaction was to write about an opportunity in my life, and the only thing that is really coming to mind right now is Work Crew at Laity Lodge. Even that idea seems to be a bit cliche.

Jamie and I are driving to Lubbock on Sunday morning after I get in from Austin to go visit Jeff. That will be fun. I was pretty sure Jamie's parents would be more strict with the whole road trip concept when she finally got behind the wheel. I was mistaken.
