Today's foodsperiment

Was the kohlrabi I didn't have room in the oven for on Saturday. Smallish chunks, steamed for 12 minutes over the pasta I was also making for dinner.

Wasn't my best ever plan to steam things over pasta - steaming needs much more boiling and heat than the pasta that's cooking in the steam water.. but it was ok. Bit potatoey - would be better in a stew or something a bit more wintery. Nice and salty though.

Think I preferred it in its previous incarnation, thinnish slices roasted with salt and olive oil for about forty minutes with a roast dinner. Ah well.

I was supposed to be writing about travel, wasn't I? We're still waiting for the visas. We hope we've filled in the form correctly and given in the correct documents (I know I at least left one space on my form, ummm yeah).

It's hard to know whether we have or not, as between the website for the Indonesian Embassy in London, and the two expert relocation companies who've been advising us (one each from Indonesia and South Africa - no, I don't know why either), we've been given *at least* five million conflicting lists of things we're supposed to give them (or not). Maybe ten million. I didn't count. And when one or more documents on a list do agree, they differ in what they think they ought to say. It's a dark art.

And crikey let's not even start on the tax - if the visa is a dark art, tax over there is pure fricking Voldemort.

So, roll on Thursday between 14:30 - 16:00, and..... back to Dollhouse! Topher has managed to set up a situation whereby he can discuss his own work with himself in a frankly scarily masturbatory way. Then again, wouldn't you?

visa, foo, holiday
