my first wedding was a crazy $30k affair and look what happened... not to say it wasn't the most beautiful day of my life, but i would never spend that kind of dosh again unless i was a millionairess.
this time we used my mom's cousin, who is a JP, and had a dinner with immediate family at a 17th century inn...my dress was a medieval-style that i bought for $120 online (wrong time period for the venue, but who cares...no medieval buildings exist over here, so that was the closest thing haha). anyway, it turned out to be a beautiful day. and we're having a big party next Halloween to make up for the lack of a reception...but this time I'm doing it at a modest hall with a simple buffet, no DJ, etc. should be a blast.
but big weddings are a farce...all that money and the marriages rarely work out (not that yours won't, of course)...and you'll notice that the minute you use the word "wedding" in front of any of your vendors, their prices suddenly jump up just because it's a wedding. it's redonkulous. people really get taken advantage of...
