The good thing is I sat my last exam on Wednesday and passed it.
The other good thing is 'my' History of Cinema Professor didn't flat out laugh in my face when I went up to him and asked him to be my 'tutor' for the final thesis I have to write to get my damn 3-year degree.
Especially considering I told him I would like to write it about "

David has wanted to do this project since about 1998. He has tried to pimp his idea every chance he got for the past 8 years. Paul never wanted to do it until very, very recently. I, however, hate David's idea because he's writing Starsky and David, not Starsky and Hutch. Basically, Sam and Harry (codename for SH since they can't use the SH name) broke up around...83? Over a woman or a case involving a woman...but it's not said WHAT about the woman. Harry (David) pretty much bums around Europe, has multiple marriages, ends up at an environmetal rally where he runs into who? Sam (Paul) who is now a security guard for the rally. OMG, reunion!
No, just...no:( Hutch is not David, I don't want Hutch to go through the struggles David did. It just seems totally out of character for him. And in 2004, after having heard this idea time and time again, I had enough and actually wrote David http://community.livejournal.com/starsky_hutch/56957.html (this was just days before he started with Jerry Springer) And like the truely wonderful person David is;) he wrote back and only cussed once, quite a feat. http://community.livejournal.com/starsky_hutch/58166.html
Paul said he came on board to help write now (this was a total turn-around from his previous feelings of never wanting to do an SH reunion) However, between David's theatre and book writing (which is never getting done) and Paul's directing and acting on the new weekly television series, there's just no time. I would LOVE to see them back together. I'd pay to watch them be themselves for two hours, but I really really hope that they don't use David's idea for a reunion.

I agree with you for the most part, especially on the fact that Hutch is DEFINITELY NOT David and having him go through that kind of struggles would probably send out-of-character vibes even to such a new fan as I am.
What I'm confused about is the breaking-up-over-a-woman part. Is that supposed the 'starting point' of the movie or what? Because, if that were the case, I have to say I agree with David and I don't even think it would destroy the essence of the S&H relationship. But then again I haven't seen the whole series, yet, so I guess I'll have to get back to you on this when I have.
