I just don't get how in this day and age a new refridgerator and new A/C system can possibly malfunction. It's not like either of these things feature particularly new technology.

oh. not to laugh, but yeah, I'm laughing. Not at you, because yeah, you're right, these things shouldn't break, but at the reality that pretty much everything made these days is a complete piece of garbage that can and will break repeatedly.
