(no subject)
a lot has been happening in the world of Nick.
First up, I went on holiday to Morocco for two weeks with Hilary. We had a fantastic time flying out to Marrakesh, then visiting Rabat, Meknes and Fes before returning to Marrakesh for the final few days. I'll describe the holiday at greater lenght another time, but it was brilliant: interesting, relaxing and exciting at the same time. It was really nice to spend a couple of weeks with Hilary before she heads of to Leamington Spa for her new job.
Once I got back to England I was deluged with voicemail and emails about properties. As a result today I went to see an apartment in Shoreditch: three double bedrooms, seperate kitchen and living room and bathroom in a converted workshop just round the corner from old st. tube and a 25 minute walk from work. I had been very sceptical before I saw it, and heard the full description, as it was above our budget. But it's absolutely mint! Bamm in the heart of shoreditch 5 minutes from Cargo and some other great bars and clubs; loads of shops on the door step; great transport links; I can walk to work (!); very modern stylishly finished apartment; nice (and by the looks of it pretty (for Chris, my single flatmate, of course)) neighbours.
So we've confirmed our offer and hopefully we should be able to move in next week. I really hope it works out. I'm going to be in the heart of London's music scene, I'll be able to walk to work and I'll be living in a really nice flat with two really good friends. The only compromise was the price, which was above our initial budget. Given the fact that I can walk into work, and therefore save the money, this shouldn't be a problem.
So I'm feeling excited about things at the moment. It makes work very difficult though, as I get impatient waiting to sort out the deal.
I better go to bed now though, it's getting late, and I've been out celebrating.
