Tonight I had my first Irish Singing class at the
Old Town School of Folk Music. Someone at Davenport's recommended the place to me, and it seems like a good way to meet people and pick up some elements of technique. I haven't really had much in the way of formal instruction, so anything will probably help.
The first class pretty much consisted of the teacher singing a couple of verses of a song, then the rest of us all singing it, and then singing it solo or in small groups. We worked on

I'd never heard any of these before, so picking them up was slightly tricky - especially the last one. I will have to see if I can practice before next Tuesday.
