The post called 'Sunday'

We did a lot of things today--to be presented here in bullet form.
-ate out at ye olde Hometown Buffet

-went to American-excess-in-action at Costco to get some things we can't get anywhere else, like Stacey's Pita Chips and a particular brand of hummus (is that the right spelling? I'm too lazy to check the fridge..)

-continued our 'round-the-county tour of Sunday shopping by hitting Dierberg's and Walmart. If didn't seem like we got that many things but it still cost a bundle...It's amazing how all the 'bulk' items at Costco were almost exclusively in the $6 to $7 range. Except the milk, which you cannot get in bulk (yet)

-at around 1pm, we decided to finish up at Family Video (our new favorite addiction) to get like, 4 movies for 3 dollars. The video rental business model eludes me sometimes. Except when it comes to renting games. 7 dollars for 5 days? Yeah, I see where the money comes from now ;) I think we got Forbidden Kingdom, The Lost Boys 2 (that one's for Miss since I didn't see the first one), The Ring 2, and Donnie Darko which I've been meaning to see since everyone at Truman was absolutely A FLITTER about it with their interpretations and insights, and me with my nothing because I did not see it. T__T Forbidden Kingdom was decent if not totally cliched (which I guess was part of its charm) I guess it doesn't judge well for the movie that we both decided to pause and take an hour long nap (that was originally supposed to be 15 minutes). Then we paused again near the end to make dinner.

-for some reason afterward I felt this strange feeling of discontentment. It's not totally unfamiliar to me since I often hear Miss experiencing the same thing every once in a while. It's basically wanting to do something but not having enough drive, spark, or ambition to see things completed. My greatest joy out of a day is completing tasks, be it chores or games or drawing. Another level in a game, another chapter in a book--I like working towards 100 percent completion ;) But for whatever reason, I couldn't get excited enough about anything to move in any direction, and I hate being like that. It's not like there aren't plenty of things to do around the house either, but I still felt like the wind had left my sails. Admittedly, the hamburgers and macaroni we cooked for dinner helped lift my spirits and remind me what was important again (meat).

Aside from my Sunday night doldrums, Miss was super productive 100 percent--she went crazy style on the bathrooms and laundry :)

To backtrack, on Saturday we did a speed run with the Star Wars RPG at Brian's house followed by a meandering sojourn to find a Halloween party being put on by Miss' clinic. They were out in that upper class back country area off Manchester (it's amazing how something can be out in the woods and still totally be upper class). I had fun wearing in my clone trooper helmet(tm) with my needlessly long Nerf sniper rifle (I wore a Boba Fett t-shirt and a hoodie to complete the look...) And Miss got her meow on by dressing up like a...uh...well she had a fox tail on so I guess that means she got her 'bark' on? What do foxes 'sound' like anyway? ;)

Also, with suppressed excitement, I heartily look forward to playing Horde mode in Gears of War 2 with all of you guys in the xbox nation. From what I've read, it's Left 4 Dead in Gears' universe, which I am totally down with. While I don't expect gears play to 'die down' as fast as some other games have, I still plan to be online looking for you guys on (at least) day 2 after release day. Gotta get back from the night shift after all--can't play hookie with my vacation time ~
