    Chapter 1

Sun came up from beyond the mountain braes when Vince Blake returned to the PCA for a new year. It was the first year that he was accompanied by his little sister Ashley.

Ashley had been the greatest tweenie star of Hollywood. She had recently started participating in the shootings for Malcolm Reese's movie Jerk in the Well and Malcolm was extremely convinced of her supreme qualities as an actress, much to the dismay of Lola Martinez, her main competitor.

Vince led Ashley into the dorms of Butler Hall. "That's where you're going to live."

Of course the dorms were all fantastic, but Ashley was hardly ever content. "Green carpets? You know that I hate green!"

Vince knew that, but he wasn't responsible for the furniture. He just wished that he could have left Ashley behind and move on to making out with Lola.

Little did Blake know that Lola was closer than he had expected. She showed her little sister Juanita to the dorms. By chance, Juanita and Ashley were going to be room-mates.

Juanita was looking forward to becoming a great opera singer, she had been practising since infancy. Her voice could break both glass and the hearts of boys.

"Here we are!" Lola sighed in relief when she found Juanita's dorm, just to be excited when she saw Vince and Ashley. "Vince! What are you doing with that ..."

"Lola! I can't help it, but Ashley happens to be my little sister." Vince stammered. "And my mom ordered me to take care of her. Sorry!"

    Ashley grinned arrogantly.

"So your evil little sister is going to share a room with my sweet little Juanita? Are you crazy?" Lola screamed in agony.

Of course Vince was not responsible for the dorm arrangements.

Against better judgement, Lola and Vince decided to leave their little sisters behind and to look for a dark corner to make out with each other.

"So you're the famous Ashley Blake? I've seen some of your latest movies." Juanita was friendly as usual.

"OK, then you may take care of my luggage and my clothes." Ashley stuck her nose a bit higher.

Juanita sighed. It wouldn't be easy sharing her room with that diva. There were enough of them in the opera business, but Ashley topped them all.

Fortunately their roommate Paige was about arriving. She had just won the national science fair, three times in a row. She had beaten Quinn Pensky, her arch rival who would always be the runner up. Paige opened a suitcase chock full of scientific instruments and a few books. "This is the perfect place for a secret laboratory!" Paige was all excited.

The next dorm was occupied by Sandy Baldwin, a girl that had once dated Zoey's little brother Dustin Brooks, and Patricia Kirby, a girl that had once seduced same Dustin. The two girls were at each other's throat over the boy, but neither he nor his sister would care anymore. According to Zoey, Dustin was much too young for a girlfriend. Zoey hated Trisha who had a bad influence on Dustin. Sandy was OK, as long as Zoey was around to supervise them. But this would have been be too boring for Dustin and Sandy.

James Garrett, Stacey Dillson, and Lisa Perkins had left the PCA. James was disappointed because he had been turned down by Zoey Brooks. Stacey Dillsen was upset because she had been rejected by Logan Reese. Lisa had joined the band of Dirk, Sue, and Blake who had performed for the Prom Night. She had developed an undying crush on Dirk.

On the other side, Chase was finally back to the PCA. He had been to London, spending half a year at the international boarding school of Covington, but he couldn't live without Zoey.

Nicole Bristow had been to St.Agnes Highschool, a Catholic private school for girls only, in order to recover from an obesssion for the male gender. But this had turned out as a bad idea, because her fantasies about boys had grown the stronger the less she had contact with real boys. The coeducative school had thus been deemed the lesser evil.

Dana Cruz had been studying in Paris for three years. Her residence permit had expired, thus she had to return to California. As ugly as Paris had been, she wasn't looking forward at all to returning to the PCA. Crazy bimbo Nicole, snobbish jerk Logan, Miss Perfect Zoey, geeky Quinn Pensky, and many other pupils totally gave her the creeps.

Michael missed Lisa terribly. He had almost suicided the day after he had heard that Lisa was gone with Dirk, Blake, and Sue. On the other hand, Michael was looking forward to sharing his dorm with Chase. This was possible because James was gone.

Dana and Nicole were accomodated in room 101, together with Zoey. Quinn and Lola had been submitted to capital punishment: Sharing a dorm with Rebecca. They knew that this could not go well.
    Chapter 2

Quinn just came back from a trip to a shop selling strange chemicals she needed for new experiments. All the others she got from Logan's grandad. Secure in the knowledge that Paige was performing experiments as well, she had to hurry up in order to win the Nobel prize before the age of nineteen. She could not leave that honour to Paige Howard.
"What are we doing here?" Logan wondered.
    "It's an experiment!" Quinn boomed.
"I'm not that stupid, bubbleface!" Logan replied.
Quinn looked around menacingly. "I'm mixing the chemicals on my list, at 300 Farenheit, and then I need you to drink the result." Quinn smiled.
"Drink what?" Logan was dismayed. "Will it explode? Be poisoned? Dissolve in acid?" Logan shuddered.
"If I knew the outcome," Quinn explained, "I would not need to make these experiments." Quinn chuckled. "so would you please ... besides, you've read the list of chemicals. And your grandad told you about all of them, so ..."
Logan could not trust his ears. Quinn supposed him to do what? He sighed in agony. he should have seen that coming. His grandad had not been any different.
Quinn remembered the time when Zoey had moved in with her for a few days after Nicole and Dana had been at each other's throat. She had come to see very fast that Zoey was unable to assist her in her experiments. And now she was disappointed becauyse she noticed that Logan was not much better. He knew the name of the chemicals, but was unable to understand what it takes to make scientific progress.
"So you actually love my grandpa, not me on my own right?" Loagn yelled at the top of his lungs. "Then go and marry him!" Loagan knew that his of suggestion was in vain, and he knew that Quinn knew it: The grandfather they had been talking about had died a few years ago.
"Fine!" Quinn sighed. "I'm so done with you!" As had been the case with Zoey, she wished that Logan would have been more cooperative when she was planning the experiments. But Quinn had to figure that he had got a feeling not much less creepy than Zoey. "It's better for us if we walk different ways, Mr. Reese!"
Logan turned around and shrugged. "If it is like that ..." He sighed and left through the main door, for good.
Lola came back from her makeout session with Vincent Blake. "Hi Quinn! Why is Logan so angry?"
"Nothing dramatic," Quinn shrugged. "We're just done with each other. He doesn't want to help me with my untested chemical experiments."
"Oh!" Lola replied. She could understand completely why Logan refused to help.
"Now that Logan is gone," Quinn smiled, "would you please drink this potion and ..."
Lola looked oddly and twitched in disgust. "No way! Talking about chemicals, couldn't you mix something to dissolve Rebecca into thin air? She's such an obnoxious pest!"
"I hate her as much as you do!" Quinn admitted. "But my research is not aiming towards damaging people."
In this moment, their door flipped open, and in came ... Rebecca! "Hi girls!" Rebecca chuckled sadistically. Quinn's and Lola's mood dropped to desastrous in no time. Nicole had been the one to start spreading the news about Logan's separation from Quinn. Or, at least, she was the most efficient and talkative, especially when she was back in her dorm with Zoey and Dana. "Do you already know that Quinn and Logan have separated? Isn't it cool trhat Logan is single? He's such a cute guy, I'd hated it when he was not single. It's such a waste for a cute boy to be together with a girl that is not be. Did I already tell you that Logan is cute?"
"Logan is just a jerk!" Dana replied in her venomous manner.
Zoey tried to clam her mates, but the success was limited, just as usual. "There have been no guys at all at my school for girls only," Nicole felt the need to explain, "especially no boys as cute as Logan. I totally love cute boys. Did I already tell you how cute the boys are over here?" Nicole could not stop.
Dana went angry. She took Zoey's used tanktop shirt and stuffed it into Nicole's mouth. "Shup up, wench!"
Zoey wasn't happy about Nicole's and Dana's bickering.
Nicole choked, but finally she got rid of the cloth between her teeth. "Ouch!"
"Quinn and Logan were an insane combination anyways," Zoey concluded, "it was so obvious that they should never ever have even thought about starting with dates, it could not go well."
"Yeah!" Nicole squealed. "Logan is much too cute for Quinn!"Then she stormed on the campus, chasing after cute boys, which had been her main job since so long time.
"Phew!" Dana sighed in utter relief. "She's unbearable! I should switch rooms with that Lola girl."
"You'd regret it!" Zoey said. "Rebecca is such a venomous bitch ... " Painful memories shot through Zoey's brain. "You'll ge grateful for any inch of wall that is between the two of you."
Dana shrugged. Zoey must have been right, as usual. Dana knew she shouldn't object to the verdict of MsPerfect, even if it was her own habitude to object to any verdict no matter what.
Ashley and Juanita woke up on a cool and grey morning . They found themselves peirced with all sorts of electrodes.
"What the ..." Juanita squealed. The sound of her voice made the instruments scatter to which all the electrodes were tied to.
Paige was upset. "I've been monitoring your dreams! Quinn once had made that invention, but I've just improved it! And now you've ruined everything! Ignorants!"
Ashley and Juanita stared in dismay. They wished that Sandy Baldwin had been assigned as their room-mate.
Paige forced Ashley and Juanita to clean up after the whole mess they have caused when struggling free from the electrodes. "And don't mess with this experiment! I've been experimenting with variosu bacteria since last year. Quinn had tried to cross those, but she had failed and did not produce a new species. But I've added some chemicals to the mixture, and let me see what whappens!" Paige smiled enugmatically. "I have to succeed where Quinn failed! Otherwise all of the research will have been for naught!"
Ashley and Juanita both trembled in fear.
All of a sudden, Dustin bounded in. "Hi, girls? What are you doing?"
"Oh, this si Dustin, my new, er ..." Juanita blushed instead of continuing.
    Dustin smiled at Juanita.
"I'm crossing new bacteria!" Paige admitted.
"Cool!" Dustin replied, feigning to be fine with that. He still remembered when Zoey had been quarantined down to one of Quinn's experiments with bacteria. he had been Zoey's outer world agaent for a few hours, and he had messed it up badly. Dustin waved silently at Juanita and was ready to sneak out through the windowwhen Lola and Vince came back to visit their younger sisters.
Juanita was not yet willing to let Lola know about Dustin, thus she startled when Lola showed up. And this meant she started to scream high enough to make paige's trst tubes shatter, releasing all the disgusting content. Lola yelled, too. The memories of a whole day in quarantine were still fresh.
Paige knew what she had to do. She had to dial the office for dangerous biological incidents, and tell her mates and visitors to remain in quarantine.
Ashley, Juanita, Paige, Vince, Lola, and Dustin were all trapped.
    Chapter 3

Logan laughed his backside off when he heard the overhead speakers announce the quarantine for the dorm of the girls in Dustin's classes. Paige was as chaotic as Quinn. He was done with Quinn for good, she hadn't been his style anywas, and now he was looking forward to more suitable girls.
"Hi Logan!" Nicole screamed. "Isn't that quarantine nice? I love quarantines. Don't you love them too?" she squealed. "What is a quarantine?"
Logan was deadly annoyed. He had been locked into Zoey's room last time Quinn had caused a quarantine. He certainly didn't love them. And Nicole more than obviously didn't even know what that is. "Shut up, stupid obnoxious wench!"
"Ouch!" Nicole walked away. Being turned down by one of the cutest boys was hard for her to stomach. But she was lucky: Logan was not the only cutie on the campus. Nicole still had a huge amount of boys left to check out.
Zoey and Dana walked out on the campus. "Hi Nicole, you don't look very happy."
"Logan just turned me down!" Nicole whimpered in agony and disappointment.
"He's just a spoilt brat," Dana scoffed at Nicole, "not worth a single tear!"
Zoey told Nicole about the time when Quinn had submitted them to a quarantine.
"What? Locked into your dorm without a chance to meet all the cute boys? I'd hate that. Tell me that you hate it , too. Did I already tell you that I can't survive without cute boys?"
Zoey had well been aware of that straightforward fact since their first days at the PCA. "It sucked." Her cellular phone rang. "Zoey Brooks ... Dustin? ... what have you been doing there? ... OK later," Zoey shrugged. "Dustin is quarantined. He obviously seems to like one of the girls there. And it gives me the creep not being able to figure on whom he just has a crush. If it's a bad girl of which I could never approve ..."
"Such as Trish Kirby?" Nicole remembered that reckless tomboy.
"Yeah, Trish Kirby." Zoey's eyes bugged out. "Trish?"
The devil incarnate was just standing right beside Zoey ansd popped a bubblegum into her face. "I'm locked out of my dorm hall due to that stupid quarantine!" Trish scoffed viciously at Zoey. "And as long as the dorm hall is closed, we girls will be accomodated in your hall. I'm assigned to room 101. I wish someone would break those stupid rules about quarantine."
    Zoey exploded in anger.
Sandy Baldwin walked past them. "Hi Zoey! You're 101, right? I'm moved to 102 until quarantine ends."
"Great! We're almost neighbours!" Zoey calmed a bit. "Alas, your room-mates are Lola, Rebecca, and Quinn."
"Lola is in quarantine with her sister Juanita." Sandy clarified. There was some jealousy in Sandy's voice when she mentioned Juanita.
As a great observer, Zoey concluded that Juanita was the reason for Dustin being in the quarantined dorm. Better than Ashley, she thought, although she would have preferred Dustin with Sandy. Zoey had a very bad opinion about that diva. Lola had told all bad things about her.
"You're Zoey brooks, right?" a boy in Dustin's age asked the perfect lady.
    Zoey nodded. "That's me, why?"
"I'm Reuben," the boy introduced himself. "I'm Dustin's room-mate. He told me to address to you when he's not reachable." Reuben chuckled. "And now he's in quarantine."
"I understand. So what may I do for you?" Zoey asked Reuben.
"He still owes me 10 bucks for gum worms." Reuben screamed.
"Aw Dustin!" Zoey was upset, at Dustin, not at Reuben. She gave Reuben the bucks and swore to preach some sermon unto her little brother.
Reuben told the girls that he was working on his invention, a strange language. "OK, I've just invented the participles for the conjunctive future aorist, passive voice. But the grammar isn't yet complicated enough for me."
"Yeah, the aorist! I love aorists! They sound like cute boys. Tell me that you love the aorists as well." Nicole squealed. "Er ... what is an aorist?"
    Zoey looked oddly at Nicole.
Chase came along, followed by Michael. "Hi Zoey!" Chase smiled and kissed his girlfriend slightly on the forehead. "Hi Nicole!" Chase feared her to start talking about cute boys."
Zoey informed the boys about the latest news.
Chase comforted Sandy for being forced to live in a room with some quinnsane scientist and naughty lass Rebecca. Ashley pressed her head against Vincent's chest and whimpered piteously. She complained about everything at the PCA.
"It's good, princess!" Vince tried to calm his little sister.
"How long are we supposed to stay in here?" Dustin moaned. It had been for three days already.
Paige shrugged. "I must neutralise the effect of the chemicals." She sighed. "If only I knew how."
Lola was upset, both at Vince and Paige. "Don't you see that Ashley is just acting? She's a star actress, you know!"
"And so are you!" Dustin chuckled. "Do I have to remind you of the time capsula? You got Bender into letting you get away with your arrogant laziness."
"I'm arrogant and lazy?" Lola looked oddly at Dustin. "Ashley is, but I'm ..."
Paige activated her cellular phone. "This is Paige Howard. Quinn ... I hate to do this, but ... could you please help me fixing my bacteria? ... I know, but it's urgent. The guys here are so ... OK, talk to you later!"
Vince tried his best to keep Ashley and Lola from jumping at each other's throat, but he couldn't withstand forever. "What I come to think ... you bothe keep on fooling me with your acting prowess!"

"But Vince, I really love you..." Lola wanted to calm him down.
"Lola, you've told me you love me, but how am I to trust you?" Vince sighed. "Dustin, thanks for telling me about the time capsula! This opened my eyes." Vince was more upset about the possibility of having been deceived by Lola's acting than about being quarantined.
"Sorry, Lola, Ashley!" Dustin shrugged sadly. He had not had the intention of upsetting Vince against any of the girls that meant most to him.
Lola stared at Dustin with disgust.
Juanita could not stand that. "Darling, I know that you're all sweet and innocent and ..." she wrapped an arm around Dustin. "Fact is ..." Vince summed it up, "I can't trust you anymore, neither Ashley nor Lola!" with these words, he jumped out from the window. Down to his football practice, he got away with minimal injuries.
Paige was upset. "Vince might be contaminated, he's a major peril for all of them who are outside!" She wanted to use her cellular phone in order to warn the outer world, but the phone was low on electric supply. "The broken window does not help limiting the damage ..."
Lola did not listen. Now she was not only heart-broken, but she also had to deal with the fact that her little sister had a boyfriend. She didn't care too much, but did it have to be the little brother of her overprotective perfectionist room-mate Zoey Brooks? Anyways, she knew that it' had all been Ashley's fault.
Dustin finally sent an SMS to Zoey, warning her about the escape of Vince Blake. He wished that he had been able to do something in order to refrain Ashley and Lola from killing each other. Then he came to think of something else. "Paige, if your cellular device is out of power, Quinn can't call you back, right? And she can't help?" Dustin sighed deeply.
Paige nodded. She was still trying to fix the bacteria.
Lola and Ashley wrestled on the floor.
Dustin, Paige, and Juanita were unable to stop them.
    Chapter 4

    Gaudeamus Igitur
Author;s Note: Meaning of Juanita's Latin verses: Our life is short, and it will soon be over. Death rushes by and abdcts us violently, nobody;s going to get away.
Chase, Logan, and Michael were lying on their beds.
"Quinn is such a meanie!" Logan moaned. "Sher only wanted my grandpa's legacy."
"Oh, man!" Michael squealed, "Quinn just used you for the bucks? That's so not-dripping!"
"Logan. you've deserved this for being such a jerk!" Chase thundered.
Logan was upset. "Quinn was just interested in the secret protocols of grandpa's experiments."
"She's a science girl, like Paige!" Chase boomed. "What could you expect from her?"
"I know, I should have known better!" Logan banged his head against the wall.
Suddenly, their window opened from the outside.
"Vince!" Chase shrieked in dismay. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be locked into Ashley's dorm, aren't you?"
"I know that I'm supposed to." Vince replied in his cool manner. "But that doesn't mean that I'll do so." He grinned sarcastically.
"Do you know what you're doing?" Michael trembled. "You may be contaminated with paige's new killer virus!"
"Bacteria!" Chase complained, "Quinn and paige are working on bacteria!"
"Bacteria, virus ..." Logan shrugged. "Only a spaz like Quinn could care about the difference!"
    Michael nodded. "You're right!"
"Yeah, and so?" Vince wouldn't stop being arrogantly cool. He fetched some food from the fridge in the dorm, then he waved at Logan, Chase, and Michael before disappearing again through the window.
"We might be all dead by now!" Chase remarked.
"At least let's enjoy dying!" Michael suggested. He pulled out his flute and played the Gaudeamus Igitur.
A few minutes later, Olivary Biallo bounded in. He had been Michael's partner for the school dance like four years ago and annoyed him insane. "Michael!"
Chase remembered and laughed about Michael's bad luck. "Your boyfriend is back!" Chase grinned. "Logan, let's leave the lovebirds alone!"
    Logan nodded. "Ice bar?"
"You can't leave me alone with that ..." Michael screamed in agony, but it was too late. Logan and Chase had already left the building.
"I'm so happy to see you again!" Olivary announced. "I've leanernt a lot about Americs from you."
"Oh really, you did?" Michael shrugged.
Olivary sure didn't behave as if he had learnt anything. "Let's exchange our underwear, as good old friends use to do!"
Michael whimpered in disgust. "I guess you're still into that lunar cult."
"The moon willsave us, Michael!" Olivary screamed enthusiastically. "Hail the moon!"
Michael didn't get it. Vince might probably have infested the whole school since he broke out of quarantine. And Olivary continued rejoycing in his folly like nobody's business.
Vince walked out on the campus, hiding behind some shrubbery.
"That's my shrubbery!" Trisha Kirby complained while popping a chewing gum.
"Bet it isn't?" Vince displayed his muscles.
Trisha wasn't intimidated. "Let's she!" She grabbed Vince by the hip and wrestled him to the ground.
"Wow, you've got it, babe!" Vince was impressed. "How did you get these dynamite packages?"
Trisha smiled. "I've missed out on classes and went to gym, instead. And there are those pills ..."
Vince wondered: "You take them, too?" He smiled. "I used to swallow them like nothing, especially before footbal matches." He started to sigh. "But since I'm back from therapy school, I can't seem to get them any longer. The guy who sold them is no longer at the PCA."
Trisha nodded. "Someone else sells them now. I may arrange you a meeting with him."
"OK, what's the price?" Vince wondered.
"Do you have to ask, you studly man?" Trisha grabbed Vince and pulled him close. "I know that you might be contaminated, but I don't care. Life is short, anyways, and sooner or later, the soil will host us." She initiated a wild makeout session.
"I love making deals with you!" Vince whispered solemnly into Trisha's ear. "Why are you hiding here in the shrubbery?"
Trisha grinned. "I've stolen something from Dean Rivers's office, and I'm going to dig a hole and hide it here." Trish showed Vince her prey. "The numbers for the mithril safe in his appartment."
"Do you need an assistant for ..." Vince asked.
Trisha nodded. "Sure!" She smiled when she continued smooching with Vince.

Vince smiled. "OK, let's get to your dorm."
"It's in the quarantined hall!" Trisha objected.
"And so?" Vince chuckled in a taunting manner. "Rules are for the weak only! I've stolen enough food from Logan Reese's fridge for a whole week."
    Trisha snickered. "Hell, yeah!"
Vince and Trisha broke through the backdoor of the girls' dorm hall and snuck into Trisha's dorm for celebrating their dolce vita until quarantine would be over." "Can't you sing something while we're waiting for ..." Dustin asked Juanita.
"For you anything, darling!" Juanita smiled sweetly at Dustin, in a way that annoyed both Ashley and Lola. Then she started to sing.
Ashley and Lola knew one thing: That was terrible! They stopped catfighting.
Applauded by Dustin, Juanita sang at the top of her lungs.
    Vita nostra brevis est,
    Brevi finietur!
    Venit mors velociter,
    Rapit nos atrociter,
    Nemini parcetur.

Lola and Ashley had forgotten about their catfight and were now ready to jump at Juanita's throat.
Alas, Dustin protected Juanita with her life. "I'll take pictures of your bras and sell them to your insane fans on the interweb!" Dustin threatened both Ashley and Lola.
"No, you won't do that!" Lola and Ashley screamed unison and stared at each other. They couldn't help pulling each other close for a deep, sensuous kiss. They verbally regretted, but, actually, they didn't feel bad about it.
"They are just acting, I guess," Dustin whispered to Juanita who nodded solemnly.
Quinn sat in her dorm and experimented with bacteria.
Rebecca entered and saw Quinn pondering about test tubes. "Egad!" Rebecca was scared. She had toleave the dorm hall as soon as possible.
"Finally alone!" Quinn smiled to herself. Then she pushed the buttons and informed Paige. She tried Dustin's cell because Paige's was out of power. "You're still alive, Paige? ... I'm happy that you are. Listen. I've reproduced your tests. I know what has gone wrong in my previous experiments. You were right, the chemicals do not only alter the genetic structure of the bacteria, but also ..." Quinn knew that the situation was deadly serious. Telling anyone about it would cause a wave of panics throughout the campus, leading to anarchy and chaos that might easily devastate the whole civilisation of California. "Listen, Paige, I've discovered that those bacteria react strongly to moon phases! I don't know how, but you could try to use this to control the situation. Good luck, we all will need it!"
Sandy Baldwin bounded in. "Hi Quinn!" she greeted in a friendly manner. "I hate it being separated from my luggage. May I borrow one of your pyjamas for tonight? I need to wash the stuff I had with me when I was locked out of my whole dorm."
Quinn nodded solemnly. "But don't wear my socks! They are especially for six-toed feet." Quinn sighed. "Mark del Figgalo knitted them for me when we have been together. And now he won't take me back even though I've broken totally with Logan."
"You'll find something much better, I'm sure!" Sandy smiled. "I've started dating that new guy, Reuben. Do you know that he has just invented a new language?"
Quinn wished that she would find a way to defeat the bacteria. Otherwise there would be no use in finding a new boyfriend. "I don't like human languages," Quinn admitted. "I'm more into programming languages. My favourite language is Q++."
Sandy sighed as she understood nothing about computers. Chapter 5

Finally, full moon was rising. And this was the moment Paige and Quinn had been waiting for.
Quinn thought back to many nights of full moon when she had tried to get Mark to kiss her, but it hardly ever happened, and finally it was too late. Her kisses for Logan had been the results of moments of plain temporary folly and mental blackouts. Fortunately that terror had been over, but will the terror of Paige and her mates being quarantined last much longer? They are likely to starve as Paige had not stocked enough baby meals for five people to last for several weeks. They needed to be fast. But one mistake only, and the whole PCA would be history, maybe even all of mankind.
Rebecca had not dared to stay near Quinn and her experiments, she had fled from the campus along with her new boyfriend Glen Davis, a guy who once had tried to pry Zoey loose from Chase, pretty much the converse of what Rebecca had done. If she had inhaled from Quinn's mixtures, she might carry an infection into the outer world that was able to wipe out the whole civilisation.
After five hours of experiments ...
"Heureka!" Paige cried in a way audible even out on the campus, "Quinn was right, the bacteria are defeated!"
Ashley, Lola, Dustin, and Juanita sighed in relief. The next morning, they would be released from quarantine. And Quinn was waiting for them with some home-brewed antidote.
"Lola!" Juanita had to ask her elder sister, "I wonder ... have you and Ashley been acting when ..."
Ashley stared at Lola who stared back.
Both of them knew that they had not been feigning, but did they know the same thing about their partner? They shrugged helplessly, wishing that Juanita could postpone the question for a few days. Alas, as fellow actresses they knew that each other had been lying. The need to stick together, first against Vince who had abused both of them over quite some time, then against a bunch of ignorants who refused to appreciate the works of the two best Hollywood starts ever, had soldered them together like two pieces of metal in the flaming inferno.
Dustin hugged Juanita. "I like to be with you in both better and worse times ..."
Juanita nodded. "Too bad our elders sisters will be very upset, once we're out here." She looked anxiously at Lola.
"Hey!" Dustin remarked. "If they don't talk to Zoey about us, we won't tell anyone about ..."
    Lola understood the warning. "Deal!"
None of them knew that Zoey already knew about Dustin's crush.
Early morn, Olivary Biallo and Michael Barret walked out on the campus.
"I told you that the moon would save us!" Oli squaled cheerfully.
"Yeah, I know!" Michael suggested to sing praises to the moon.
Michael and Olivary hugged each other when they walked out on the campus, singing solemn hymns magnifying the moon.
"What a cute couple, Michael and Oli!" Nicole remarked about the singing guys. "Aren't they cute? Tell me that they are cute!" Nicole squealed. "I love it when cute boys hug each ther, it's so ... cute, right?" Nicole was the only one on the campus that had never been aware of the dangers that Paige had invoked with her biochemical experiments. She had just kept on blathering in her typical bimbo-style. But was she really the only one? No, she wasn't!
Along came Nicholas Webber. "Isn't this a wonderful night?" he asked Nicole. "I love full moon. It makes all girls appear so cute." He sighed. "I can't live without my daily dose of cute girls. When I was off the PCA for Obssessive Female Gender Disorder , OFGD, I've been close to dying from withdrawal."
"Egad!" Nicole boomed, as she could readily relate to that. It reminded her so much about the time when she had been at a girls-only school, St. Schneider's. "But now you have got me!" Nicole blushed.
Nicholas wrapped his arms around the cutest girl of the school. "Thanks. When we met at the school dance, I thought you talked too much for my taste. But I've missed hearing you talking once I left the PCA."
Nicole nodded. "Same here, I've only discovered everything when it was too late for the time being."
Nicole and Nicholas walked on, humming a cute tune.
Dana sighed in relief when she heard that the quarantine was canceled. "Reese!" she screamed. You're responsible for it because it was one of your ex-girlfriends that ..."
"I'll always be guilty, because half of the school are my ex-girlfriends." Logan grinned sadistically.
    "You wish, jerk!" Dana boomed.
"What if I only wish for one?" Logan grinned.
    "Hah!" Dana taunted Logan sarcastically.
"The girl that stomped my foot at some school dance, leaving me with three bruised toes?" Logan added. "And that raced to Europe when I wanted to leave her my other foot to stomp flat?"
    Dana shrugged. "Still interested?"
    "Sure!" Logan replied.
Dana walked up to Logan and stomped his other foot, making it bleed. "You had it coming, jerk!"
"Thanks, Danger!" Logan smiled while his toes made him whimper in pain. "I knew that you really love me!"
"I should punch you so hard that some of your bones crush," Dana growled menacingly.
"Yeah, do that, honey!" Logan swooned in delight.
"Or I could do just that ..." she pressed her lips against Logan's, almost sucking tongue and teeth from his mouth.
    "Awwwwww!" Logan lacked the words.
Ashley and Lola started singing when they walked out on the campus.
The moon is on its bright side, and we've thought of everything,
Send a word to the prisoners: Tonight we get away!
So when you hear sounds of confusion come drifting through the door,
Get your belongings together, don't leave nothing at all,
Hey, girls tonight we get away to the other side,
Head for the wall the getaway ...
Dustin stormed out on the campus. "I'm free, Zoey!" He hugged his sister tighter than ever before.
"Dustin!" Zoey moaned. "So what's with your girlfriend? And gum worms?"
Dustin was upset. How could Zoey know about Juanita? Now he had no reason to withhold his information about the actresses from the public. "Lola and Ashley are a couple!"
Zoey couldn't believe it and broke down in laughter.
Fortunately, Chase was nearby and gave Zoey a necessary kiss of life.
Hand in hand, Lola and Ashley walked by when Zoey woke up.
"So it's true!" Zoey stammered. She didn't want to believe it and passed outagain, this time in Chase's arms.
Dustin was happy because this way, Zoey could not punish him for Juanita or the gum worms, or both.
Security stormed the dorm where Vince and Trish had been hiding. They would be sent to military camp in the desert of Arizona.
Quinn met Paige and hugged her. "Glad you've made it alive!"
Paige sighed. "That's the second time that you've saved people from my mistakes."
Quinn comforted Paige. "I've been through things like that ..."
Paige shrugged. "I simply can't live without you."
    Quinn agreed.
"Maybe we should better plan our experiments together, and somewhere where we will be all alone, just you and me." Paige suggested.
Quinn took Paige by the hand. "Let's get our laboratories together and vanish from here, before the ignorants here come and lynch us."
"The whole world is my laboratory," Paige remarked, "and anywhere where we're together, I'll enjoy experimenting."
"I believe you, Paige!" Quinn replied.
The science girls vanished in the rolling morning mist and would never be seen again among the vulgar people that had no understanding for the necessity of bringing sacrifices for the sake of scientific progress. OK, they were not quite unseen.
Suddenly, Quinn was hit by a flying object, some high-heeled shoe. there was a lable stuck to it. Quinn read the inscription: "I've got Mark, now you may have my shoe. Enjoy! Maria." Quinn remembered, and explained unto Paige, that Maria had been drawing a picture of Mark during the first quarantine. She had stolen Maria's shoe because she had believed that Maria had stolen Mark from her, which was in error. Whatever, Paige and Quinn didn't want the shoe and threw it into the ocean, hoping it not to backfire like the ring of Polycrates.
