hello one and all.
well, i've been studying (sort of) for Collections this Friday (blargh!) but economics is the WORST SUBJECT EVER. i mean, i enjoy it, but remembering all of these equations, and then sorting out how to manipulate them and graph them? sheesh. it's like you have to be smart to be able to do this shizzle. and damn, do i feel like i missed that boat.
but anyway, on to more interesting things:
one, bought a brownie camera the other day!! fully functional, came with extra film spools, etc. YES. now i just need to buy some film and take her out for a spin. i also bought a polaroid camera, but that's from 1975, not 1905, and thus seems somewhat less exciting. anyway, the brownie was ansel adams first camera. so. i love ansel. but i also love nature. and i love his stories. one of the best photos he ever took was the product of *falling* down on a mountain and accidentally taking a photo. how lovely is that?
two, the packages have been mailed. almost. the rest will go out this saturday.
three, hetti is joining me and cat for formal hall tomorrow, so she'll get to see how Oxford University functions. i know she'll crack up when someone has to leave the meal early and thus curtsy to the Principal. (or bow, but as a girl, you curtsy)
four, the parties this weekend are going to be great. it seems as though everyone is so excited for summer term this year that there are events all weekend long! too bad i have an essay due sunday. meep.
five, i'm through being sick! (just about.) brilliant.
six, i don't have economics this term! HALLELUJAH. only latin american politics/ asian politics. i have a feeling my tutors are going to be massive hardasses, but i don't mind. now i only have to worry about writing 4000 *words* a week, as opposed to composing MATHEMATICAL TRIUMPHS. i love words; i hate advanced calc.
seven, i went to the oxford city museum and i didn't realize that all of the canals in england were *manmade*. why didn't anyone ever clue me in on this? it makes sense... i just thought there were a bunch of midgy rivers. haha.
eight, i have fallen in love with the dandy warhols. better late than never.
nine, i have found out in the past three weeks that three childhood friends are engaged. good news all around. meanwhile, cara b. sent me easter candy! i love getting mail. :D it really rendered me chirpy.
ten, i realized that after this june, i have six months left in england (three eight-week terms). BLIMEY.
