A loud noise woke Juliet up. Startled, she sat up and rubbed her eyes. Her room was dark, except for bright flashes of lightning coming through the curtains.
Stupid thunderstorm, she thought, sighing deeply. She was tired and needed sleep. But with the storm outside…
"Juliet? " A soft voice outside her door caught Juliet’s attention.
Juliet smiled, realizing how lucky she was for having her best friend living in the same house with her. "I’m awake, Rachel. You can stay with me." And it was even better that her older sister was more afraid of thunderstorms than she was.
