I’m unusually proud of myself. In less than a month, I will be celebrating one year of not smoking. I’ve smoked for more years I care to mention. I never thought I would see the day I actually quit and I did it without any help. Well, a bit of chewing gum went a long ways. :-) I chewed the stuff in the morning, all during the day, and into the night. I drank water often, began a walking routine, and prayed I wouldn’t gain a lot of weight.
So here I am. A little healthier. The weight gain was minimal.
May was a terrific month for going to the movie theaters. So far, I’ve seen:
1. Iron Man 3 - loved it.
2. Pain and Gain - my daughter did this to me. She loves Marky Mark (LOL) and I’m wishing he would get some acting talent.
3. 42 - Saw this with father, aunt and brothers. Absolutely love the movie. Jackie Robinson’ wife is in her 90’s. She looks fabulous.
4. Oblivion - no comment - well, some of Tom Cruise’s movies can be quite lame.
5. Star Trek ITTD - Immensely enjoyed the movie. But something is missing. Maybe it’s Spock, who comes off a bit too temperamental. Maybe I thought the switch around between Kirk and Spock was lame. When I think about the original episode, the significant emotion the scene drew on is missing from the reimagined version.
6. Fast 6 - LOVED IT. Enough said!
To complete my May movie trek, “After Earth” with Will Smith and son is up next. I’m also curious about “Now You See Me.”
