Happy Late New Year!!!

Okay, so I'm late... Sue me.

The past few days have gone by like a blur. Oh how I so hate being busy... Hell, I didn't even get to start celebrating New Years Eve until 11:23 (yep, I checked the clock) that night. At least I was in time!

My family was out a town for New Years - a rarity - so I was all alone. Sad as it sounds, I much preferred it to a.) going to a party or b.) going with my parents to their friends house. Felt sorry for my brother, as he had to go. I'm just glad my dad didn't fight me on going with them. I may be an adult, but he's a controlling you know what, and I tend to let him win most of the time, just so I don't have to argue. Lucky for me, I think he understood my issues with going. He knew I had some stuff to do - though he didn't know what...I don't usually tell him 'cause the man has an opinion on everything - but he also knew that my brother, who's fourteen, would be the only other person there that was remotely my age. Forgive me, but I'd rather not spend New Years Eve surrounded by the "11 and Under" Crowd.

My mom was her usual self. She so did not want me by myself on New Years Eve. She's so cute...in not so many words, she told me that being alone on New Years was unnatural. She kept naming off people I could spend the evening with. Unfortunately for her, my best friend was spending New Years with her boyfriend and his family at some party or something. Granted, I've known my BF's boyfriend and his family since I was in Kindergarten (his mother still thinks I should marry her older son), so that wouldn't be a huge deal, but I was happy just being alone. I told my mom that I'd ring in the New Year with Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark, so see, I wasn't alone! A bad joke I know, but it got the point across.

Watched part of the parade on New Years Day with my dog. Then I was out the door by 11 so I could run a present over to my high school science teacher, who's the sound "technician" at my old high school. Since my mom's the choir teacher, eh, director, he helps her out immensely with the programs and such. Why the hell is that important, you ask? Well, my ex-science teacher is a college football fanatic. And being from SoCal, he of course is a USC fan. So, while I was over there, I got the typical lecture on how I needed to watch the Rose Bowl. Now, my father and grandmother also happen to be USC alumn....so you can guess how much say I had in what was on the big screen.

Again, all this is important, because... Dammit Steph, that was a long ass game! And, off the record of course, I may have enjoyed it. It was certainly better than that horrid USC/UCLA game I was forced to watch no too long ago. Oh and, again off the record, but USC has a hot quarterback! Sadly, I only remember his last name, but then again, it's kinda hard to forget it when his last name is "Booty". That's worse than my grandmother's maiden name, which was Butts! But yeah... See Steph, I told you I'm trying!

new year
