It is funny cause since the surgery was supposed to help me eventually sleep better, people ask me "So, are you finally sleeping through the night?" The funny thing is - the only answer I can give is "Well, sorta"
Since I am not fully healed it is difficult to tell if I am sleeping through the night. I know that I am breathing much better already. I know that my snoring has cut down (or is at least quieter already). Problem is, I nap so frequently cause my body is still healing, that I don't always sleep at night. For example, I went to the doctor's this morning at 9:30, stopped by target to fill my new prescriptions (more pain meds and antibiotics), and got back at 11:15 am. I went upstairs and sat on the bed. Next thing I know, it is 3:45. I fell asleep, on top of the bed, with my shoes still on! So, now, it is 2:30 am, and I am wide awake. Hopefully, I can start getting back on a somewhat regular schedule by the end of this week, but at this point, if my body says sleep, I listen. I WANT to get better and I am still taking it easy (even if the boredom is killing me). LOL
ANYWAY....I went to the doctor this morning for a checkup. He says there is still swelling and rawness, but it looks like it is healing well. Except, somehow I popped one of the stitches. I have been sooooo careful, but he said anything could have done it. He says that area still looks like it will be fine, but I need to go back next Friday again to check. If it doesn't heal right, he will have to go back in and stitch it back up (please, please, please heal right!). So, in light of all of that, his new recommendations are:
1. I can't go back to work until next week.
2. I have to be on the antibiotics another 14 days.
3. I have to stay on the soft diet for at least until I see him again.
4. Lots of rest, lots of liquids, and no juice or citrus.
Since I am already stir crazy, I am not sure what I will do with myself this week, but I am still going to be good and take it easy. Baby steps.... :)
