on too much coffee and living alone in Millegeville...

still here...

a week's worth of opressive heat in milledgeville has subsided, giving way to afternoons blessed by slow and gentle breezes; they run through the leaves of oak trees and carry with them an almost wintery scent.  i've made some friends here, each one a newcomer to the true south.  writing has gone from a bi-monthly spew of mixed images and uncertain ideas--the result of prolonged inactivity--to a daily excercise.  after all, they're paying me to practice, and there's a definite, somewhat guilty sense of being 'on the clock'  during time spent idly.  anyway, expect a new story to be posted in the next couple of weeks.

my apologies to sam, to whom i promised  more frequent and detailed journal entries.

today is my mother's birthday--michelle and i bought her some sort of flower-blooming teapot contraption that we hope she'll like.

sometimes it's kind of lonesome around here.

more to come...
