i talked with jen rubin tonight on the phone:
"oh yeah, i got a scar this week. ... i guess."

***she was attacked by a manhattan construction site.
she also fake-cried to get seen at the ER.

[i was also a member of a minor citizen's revolt today.]

the people of my "comunidad" finally decided that as americans (most of them)
they deserved more than a 3rd-world post office.

----> you see, it's slightly more difficult to mail an express letter in Washington Heights than it is to get an angus hamburger in bangladesh.
*if only carrier pigeons and ponies weren't extinct.

so --- the 40-50 people in the post office revolted, banging on windows, and trying to kick "the" door in... until a nervous and bewildered gentleman in a navy sweater and a cheap tie produced himself from "behind the curtain."  he mentioned something about calling the police (all in spanish of course), but quickly recanted as the swelling mob began to hunch over and foam at the mouth.  somehow he conjured more tellers, raising the grand total from "one" to "four".  and thus, civil order was restored.

i passed the whole experience with a humble smile and contented soul.  we had truly captured, for one moment, the essence of american patriotism... the revolutionary spirit of an ancestral idealism distinctly ours and ours alone.  the type of passionate, moral and civic crusade one would expect from such hollywood historic reenactments as... dane cook speaking at the constitutional convention; or jack black throwing tea into the boston harbor. "that's how [he] roles."

just another day in the life.

[i also watched 8 episodes of "invader ZIM"]
