It's time for another art dump by your humble narrator. Let's see what's in the vault, shall we? I've got some here today that are over TEN YEARS OLD =-O! Amazeballs.
Some of the images are quite large, just to warn you.
Taylor Hanson laughing, from a pic in MOE magazine. Memories~~
Taylor Hanson jumping on a bed. Yarp! I remember lying to my art teacher at the time and saying it was my brother's friend, Austin, because we were supposed to draw someone we knew from life, and I'd taken the picture. I don't think she really believed me, but I got full marks anyway.
A drawing of my brother and I helping to move stuff in to our new house. Taken off a picture snapped between 4th & 6th March 2000.
I'm not quite sure when I did this one, actually. I think it was for my Advanced Drawing and Painting class, so that would put it in the fall of 2001.
Self portrait
A painting that was done for my Advanced Drawing and Painting class. I think I finished it in April or May of 2002 - the exact date is on the back of the painting itself, which is at my parents' house. Acrylics on canvas, based on a picture taken of me when
annenaxos,
loribelle1985 and I were recording our demo at an apartment in Benton Park, St Louis in 2001.
Little pen sketch of Jude Law. Fun fun.
Snape doodle in pen. Drawn on my Ancient Greek War, Custom and Law Honours finals study guide. Whee.
One of my first attempts at colouring digitally, LOL. Done for one of the old Floo HP monthly art challenges. The prompt was "Hogwarts secrets", and I thought I was being so clever by asserting that one of the biggest secrets was how Voldemort got into Hogwarts each year.
This one was done initially to explore how muscles fit over bones and such. I started with the skull from my anatomy text book, then added muscles and such, and covered it with the integumentary system. It came out pretty much how I think Remus Lupin looks in profile, so, uh, that's what it is now. Remus Lupin in profile. Shit yeah.
A painting I did for my Creative Strategies class. I really like text in art, and was heavily influenced by Stanley Donwood's work on Radiohead's album Hail To The Thief at the time.
I forgot what class I did this for at Webster, probably Drawing I. My scanner did something funny and cut off part of the image, and I had to piece it together from scans since it's a fair-sized piece.
Self portrait for my Drawing I class at Webster University
Various images and lines from Twin Peaks done in watercolours, Sharpie (which was a mistake), and a bit of my blood.
Sirius is amused whilst sitting in the Leaky Cauldron. From chapter 30 of "Light of a Fading Star" by Seirios Aster on fanfiction.net
Sirius looking all woe-be-gone in St Mungo's at age 15. From chapter 36 of "Light of a Fading Star".
Sirius rotting away in teh Azkabanz
In my personal canon, Sirius and Regulus chill in the afterlife and attend Quidditch games together. YEP.
Inspired by
one_song_for_me's brilliant drabbles about the Blacks on
http://community.livenjournal.com/hh_writersblock, Regulus doesn't know if he can live up to either expectation Sirius or the rest of his family have for him. Willow charcoal is definitely not my strong suit, but I'm working on it.
I'm not terribly familiar with how best to manipulate soft pastels to suit my needs, but I've found that having a base helps with blending, so that's what I did first. You can see where I had tried to draw it out without use of a grid in the faded orange bits.
A bit more detail.
and more.
Nearly finished.
Final product!
Sirius receives word of Regulus's death.
I'm actually quite pleased with how this turned out. Definitely much happier with it than I've been with my work in a while.
I think that's it. Phew! Off for a pint and some karaoke at Bishop's, possibly. It's sounding promising. Don't really feel like getting dressed, though. Compromises to be made, I suppose.
