Chapter 6
As things were being settled, Yunho and Jaejoong went back to the cafeteria as Yunho insisted to treat Jaejoong for lunch.
Although they were being watched by other employees, Yunho did not care about it since what was on his mind now was Jaejoong.
He looked at Jaejoong who was quietly eating the food that he had ordered for him, as he finally decided to ask the question that he had been wanting to ask as soon as Jaejoong agreed to accept him back just now.
“Jaejoong, do you want to move back into our house? You and…… mum……” Yunho asked although he felt uneasy to call Ji Shin as his mother since he had never called him this before. But since he had decided to forget everything about the past and make better compensation to them, he was not reluctant to take Ji Shin as his mother.
Jaejoong paused his eating and looked up to Yunho, “I don’t think it’s necessary. Even if I accepted you as my brother now, it doesn’t mean that we need to live together. I…… don’t know if I can even call you as hyung now.”
“It’s okay, Jaejoong. You can call me by my name, I don’t mind. Our age difference is only 2 years anyway.” Yunho quickly responded to Jaejoong’s statement.
Jaejoong hesitated for a few seconds before he agreed by slightly nodded his head, and then he lowered his head and continued eating.
Yunho smiled as he was feeling grateful for everything that had happened and Jaejoong was actually accepting him now.
It would not be too far for the day to arrive when Jaejoong and Ji Shin would move back to their house and live together as a family once more.
But of course, it was only Yunho who thought so.

“Jaejoong, I’ll send you home today.” Sharp at 5pm, Yunho appeared in the General Services Department, insisting to send Jaejoong home.
And as expected, the staffs in that department was whispering and chattering with each other concerning their relationship.
Still packing up his bag, Jaejoong answered without looking at the taller man in front of him, “I have other place to go, I’ll just take the bus.”
“I can send you over.” Yunho responded quickly, seemed like he was not going to let Jaejoong get away easily.
Jaejoong did not make any response as he zipped his bag and placed it on his back.
“Please?” Yunho said again.
“Alright.” Jaejoong was going to reject him, but the sincere look on Yunho’s face was making him softhearted.
A smile crept on Yunho’s face, Jaejoong felt his heart beating fast for a few seconds by looking at the bright smile. He rarely saw him smiling when he was living with him. Even if he was smiling, it was not intended for him. But now, Jaejoong was feeling kind of insecure and unbelievable of Yunho’s attempt to compensate them. He hated them so much back in the past, this was really a drastic change that he had to suspect any possible intention behind all Yunho’s acts. But every time he looked into Yunho’s eyes, it was purely sincere and nothing more.
“Let’s go.” Yunho circled his right arm over Jaejoong’s shoulder.
Jaejoong nodded, thinking of freeing himself off from the grasp but somehow, he felt comfortable with it.

“Where are you going?” Yunho asked as he buckled up his seatbelts and was ready to start the car.
“General hospital.”
“Why?” Yunho wondered.
Jaejoong considered telling him about the condition of his mother, as he was eager to know what reaction Yunho would have towards it.
“My mother is there.” He replied as he observed Yunho’s facial expression but only to find a worried expression on his face.
“Can I go with you? I want to pay him a visit too.” Yunho asked carefully since he was not sure if Jaejoong would mind letting him to see Ji Shin after what he had planned to do back at the past.
Then, he remembered about the baby Ji Shin was carrying when they escaped from the house. He wondered how the baby was now, is it a he or she, or is it healthy. But he was hoping that the baby was alright now.
He was curious to ask Jaejoong about it, but he guessed it was not a right timing now.
Jaejoong nodded, Yunho should see what he had caused them into.
It was not that he was holding deep grudge on Yunho, but he still could not completely forgive him for causing all the pain he had suffered, even though he could not hate him completely as well.
Should he trust him? That was what Jaejoong’s mind was processing along their way to the hospital.
Seeing that Jaejoong was in deep thought, Yunho thought he might as well shut his mouth and remained silence.
As they arrived at the hospital, Jaejoong was walked ahead and leading Yunho to the ward room where Ji Shin was located in.
The ward room was quite small but at least it was a single room.
Yunho had mixed feeling as he entered the room and looked at Ji Shin who was lying on the bed. Once he had hated him so much, but now he was really hoping to talk to him again. Ji Shin had been treating him well, just that he never appreciated it.
After placing his bag on the chair, Jaejoong opened the drawer and took out the towel and then went out of the room to the washroom.
Not knowing what he should do, Yunho just sat down on the chair beside the bed and stared at the pale sleeping face. Many questions came across his mind, but he was not sure if it was appropriate to ask Jaejoong about it, and he doubted if Jaejoong would actually tell him.
It was not long until Jaejoong came back with the slight wetted towel and softly wiped on Ji Shin’s face.
After he was done, he sat down and held on Ji Shin’s hand as usual and started talking, “Mommy, we have a guest today. Don’t you want to see him? You should wake up now.”
He was referring to Yunho who was sitting opposite him over the bed.
Yunho adjusted his sitting posture as he leaned forward to wait for Ji Shin to wake up and open his eyes, but after a few minutes
Jaejoong smiled bitterly as he had expected that Ji Shin would not have woken up by now. He needed miracle for it to happen.
“He’s in coma.” Simple words came out from Jaejoong’s mouth had made Yunho to be shocked.
“But…… but why?” Yunho stuttered as he was really curious about how they had been living during those three years. Judging from the condition, it could be seen that many things undesired had happened, and Yunho felt guilty about it as he was part of the causr for the happenings, even if it was indirectly.
Jaejoong’s gaze was fixed on Ji Shin as he continued, “I shouldn’t leave him alone that time. I did not know what happened until I received a call from the hospital saying that he had been knocked out by a car. He’s safe but never woke up since.”
“How about the baby?” Yunho finally asked after struggling whether he should ask or not.
“As you wish, the baby…… the baby is gone.” Jaejoong tried to hold back his tears as he was thinking about the loss of his unborn baby brother or baby sister. He did not know how Ji Shin would come out from the house while the door was being locked. If he didn’t, then he and the baby would be safe. The baby was gone and his mother was in coma, he had no other relatives, he was left alone.
Yunho did not know why or how but he could feel the sadness Jaejoong was enduring now. He did not intend to hurt the baby, all those acts and words were just out of his enraged soul at that time.
He stood up and walked over the bed to approach Jaejoong. He bent down and hugged Jaejoong who was still sitting on the chair, “I’m sorry. I didn’t want it to happen. Trust me, I did not mean to hurt the baby even though I said something like that.”
Gently stroking Jaejoong’s back, he comforted, “You still have me, you still have me, Jaejoong.”
Jaejoong burst out crying as he heard those words which sounded like a promise to him, a promise that he would never leave him alone anymore, a promise that he had been yearning for long. It was the first time he cried after the accident happened.
Listening to the sobbing sound from the crying figure, Yunho tightened his embrace, “I’ll announce you as my brother two days later.”
Although he could not let Jaejoong to have the Jung surname now, at least he wanted to announce to the public that Jaejoong was his brother, his blood-related brother.
Jaejoong pulled himself out from the embrace and replied in a louder yet cracked voice, “I don’t want!”
“But why? We’re brothers.” Yunho asked back in doubt.
Wiping the tears from his face, Jaejoong calmed himself as he knew that his reaction was kind of weird.
“I’m not ready yet.” That was the only reason he could give now.
Thinking that maybe Jaejoong would not be able to adapt to his new identity once it was announced, Yunho knew he should not force him. There was still time, he would not rush him even though he really wanted Jaejoong to be recognized as his brother.
“It’s okay, we’ll do it after you are ready.” He smiled and placed his hand on Jaejoong’s head and ruffled it a bit.
The warmness coming out from the hand was making Jaejoong to lower his head, the touch was making him calm although he did not want to admit it. It felt like the touch of his mother’s warm hand.
But, he should not surrender to the gentleness that he had been longing for. He should not.
